We've seen him with glasses.

Yeah, sometimes he does. But vision often changes with age, so he might have needed them more as a kid.

Like jsright and aquaboy said, we've seen him use glasses for reading. He's probably just nearsighted (or is it farsighted? I always get those confused!).

As someone much older than you young whipper snappers - I can tell you that over the years your eyes change. I once needed glasses for being near sighted (can only see close) - but I also had no problem reading with them.
After some years - I still need glasses for distance - but read perfectly well without them - kinda like a "reverse Ben".

Let's consider the options 1) the island healed his eyes (probably not, Sawyer wears glasses) 2) Lasik 3) contact lenses, come on, you've heard of them! 4) he's so vain, he only wears them when he absolutely has to 5) presbyopia (old age eyes) has made the near sighted ness go away (doesn't happen this way)
I'd guess 3, 4 or 5. Doesn't really matter does it?

He does wear glasses. At least when tending to Sayid in the vet clinic off the island as I recall.
If the island heals his eyes when he's on island, I guess that doesn't speak well for Sawyer then, who seems to wear his glasses much more often now than "three years ago."

It might just be a puberty thing. His eyes got better. When I was younger I had to wear glasses I was cross eyed. But when I got to about 13 I did not have to wear them after that. My eyes got better.
