You think that is bad with Ethan, try watching the movie "Taken". Maggie Grace plays the role of a 17 year old girl. We all know she is obviously not 17 and she acts like she is 12 in the movie. Very awkward. As far as Ethan, maybe he looks more aged due to hard drugs, drinking and smoking? Maybe he lived a harsh lifestyle for a while and then quit it to become a doctor for the others. Maggie Grace could definitely pass for 17. When I first started watching LOST, I definitely thought Shannon was a teenager until they started showing her flashbacks. Her whiney voice and childish attitude definitely give her a "teenage drama queen" vibe. As far as Ethan, I don't care how many drugs you do, if you're a teenager (time-flash when he shoots at Locke), you're not going to look middle-aged (actor is 43). |

Perhaps whatever causes womens' uteri to age rapidly during pregnancy, and eventually to kill the fetus and mother, started only as a condition that causes babies born on the island to age much more rapidly, which is why Ethan decided to become a doctor. But I doubt it.

I think it is possible for people to look older than they really are or younger than they really are. Stuff like that just happens.

I actually had a revalation during the 25 Hour, while watching Lost in the background. I think I figured out why Ben sent out Ethan to be "killed." By joining the Fusies. Because he was born on the island, an original Dharma person. And Ben knew it. Ben sent Goodwin to be killed by the Tailies, because Juliet and him were in love. And for awhile we were wondering why send out your one and only Dr? Because Ben did not want an original Dharma person there, because he knows what Ben did in the Purge.

I've never understood the idea that sending Ethan to join the 815-ers is "sending him to be killed." Ben had absolutely no reason to believe the survivors had guns. 99% of flights don't have marshals on them, and that number's probably even higher for international flights. Ben had no way of knowing the survivors would be able to shoot Ethan. And as we've seen, in hand-to-hand combat, Ethan has nothing to worry about. I don't think any of the survivors could have killed Ethan without a gun. |

I think it's more probable that if Ben sent Ethan especially, that it was because he knew about Claire's pregnancy more than thinking the task would get Ethan killed.

i alway thought he looked older , but was a young guy. all the year on the island,always in the hot sun,his skin older then it is, prob. plus your alway being chase by monster, fake plane crash victum, being shot at. you get old before you time.
