Something has been bothering me a bit since the episode with young Charlie Widmore and Ellie Hawkins: Why is this collection of Others just a bunch of kids? None of them looked older than 20. Widmore says later that he was 17 and if Ellie was over 16 I'd be surprised. But there they are, killing all kinds of people for Jacob. Has there been any explanation yet? Or good speculation?

I think they just want young people so that they can mold them into whatever they want them to be.
