Ok, so the way that john has experience time (thus far) has been more "constant" than others. What has been days/weeks for john, has been years for the rest of the O6. Imagine you could tell a persons age from year to year instantly....
Since John Locke has only been gone a couple days/weeks, it would seem as though he has never aged.
Now imagine this on a much larger scale. What if Richard is playing out a seperate "leader" position throughout the time periods, in the same way that John has, but from a point farther in the future than the crash of the Oceanic 815..
What do you guys think?

I definitely dont think he is from the future. Richard doesnt seem to know things from the future. He didnt remember Locke back in the 50s for one thing. I just think he is really old.

This could very well possible...Gosh I love his character!
A friend of mine also came up with the theory of..."What if you don't age until you catch up with the time you are actually supposed to be in?" mmmm

I think he is a representative of the ancient Egyptians. Hence the heavy black eyeliner. Not sure what this means yet. Also has something to do with the four toed statue. Some of this story will come back on Egypt eventually. Also, when the counter reached zero... heiroglyphics!

I think he's related to Egypt as well, even if he isn't really wearing eyeliner. He's either immortal or undead-ish.
My question is why's he always more like second-in-command? If I were an Other, I'd follow 'immortal guy' more than I'd follow 'guy who just happened to not die that one time.' But maybe that's just me?
