I don't know if this idea is out there or not, but I think personally that when Kate tells Aaron in the first preview that they're going on a "vacation" she's actually running away from going back to the Island. I know, Kate and running away...it just seems so out of character...but that's my 2 cents  |

I'd say he is dressed like Sawyer, but the hair isn't long enough... Smokey seems to be to the left of him. He is not the person who seems to be being thrown into the water by smokey.  So, we see smokey exploding water and you see someone who is being thrown into the water by the explosion.  This is Juliet and Daniel -maybe Sawyer? - interesting background... What is it - I almost thought it was a city or a harbor or something, but looking at it more it might be trees with some glowing stuff on the ground - like maybe a forest fire going out? |

After I saw the latest promo (the one with an entire scene that Jay and Jack mentioned in their latest Lost podcast) I came up with a crackpot theory of my own. Who would squeal about Kate not being Aaron's biological mother? Sayid was living happily ever after with Nadia (ditto for Desmond & Penny), Hurley had his family and his lottery money (for better or for worse), Jack & Kate were so on-again off-again they were practically guaranteed to hook-up off the island. Sun the only one who really lost big when she left the island. Which leads me to believe: Sun sold out Kate to Widmore. Sun gave Widmore info about Aaron's real paternity in exchange for money to buy out her dad and increase her standing with Widmore. I think she knows about Widmore trying to find the island and figures that he is the closest to finding it (and Jin) again. Only a member of the Oceanic 6 would know Kate "adopted" Aaron - Kate making a run for it would only confirm that she isn't his biological mother. After the flashback where Sun lies to her father and gets the maid fired and the one where she buys silence from the woman claiming to be Jin's mother I'm convinced Sun will do everything in her power to get what she wants. The thought that she may have lost Jin really ticked her off. This idea would help to make the scene at Jin's "grave" make sense - Hurley was there to prop up a friend but he also knew Sun was a woman on a mission and it would be messy if certain people were there. Same thing for the scene in the Season 4 finale where she meets Widmore - that was when she "crossed over" to Widmore's side. Whew I may be waaay out there, but then again maybe not. Either way my head still hurts. Let me know what you think. |

That's a nice idea but... ...Sun has something of much more value to Widmore than Aaron's paternity. She has info about Desmond and Penny! Certainly Widmore would be much more interested in that than in Claire's baby. Unless, of course, he knows something about Aaron that we don't...yet.
Claire's mother saw Kate and Aaron after the Oceanic Six press interview. Maybe she recognized a familiar face in Aaron, and decided to pursue her suspicions further? I can't recall if Claire's mother knew that Claire was pregnant. How long was she in that coma, anyway? |

Maybe Ben, or even Jack, sells out Kate and Aaron in an effort to convince her to bring Aaron back to the island.
