I'm going to try to go with a couple of 19 year-old friends. I doubt I'll be allowed by my parents though. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie though. What exactly did they do with the ending? I've been curious about this for quite a while.

If you read the spoiler section I made in one of my previous posts, that is pretty much what they did to change it. But don't read it if you are going to go, I don't want to spoil it for you.

Hey. I don't care if I'm spoiled. I've already read the book multiple times. I know the story. I just am curious about some changes.

Just came from the IMAX and I really dug this, actually quite a bit more than the graphic novel. As for the changes at the end, they probably did so so it would be a little easier for mass audiences to comprehend. But in a way it made more sense than the comic's end, or was at least more poetic, from my point of view. And the soundtrack was great, even if the selections were a little trite (how many times have we heard The Times They Are A Changing and All Along the Watchtower in films to illicit similair reactions); but hey, a great song's a great song. In the end I give it a solid B, not incredible, but certainly a good ride. But you're right, not for kids under 13.

Pogs I'm in the exact same situation as you almost I read the graphic novel recently - it was freakin awesome. What a great storyteller. I loved all the depth and everything. But I'm not quite old enough to get into the movie by myself, and I have the same problem with my parents... I hope I get to see it soon!

What are your plans on seeing the movie if you can't see it in theatres?

I was a little disappointed. But they did their best with it. Why disappointed? What parts don't you think they did right?

The effects were top-notch, save for an odd scene where Dr. Manhattan uses telekinesis to don a suit in which the shirt and tie appear very cartoony and fake. The music selections are cliches, but asesome and well mixed. The performances are all passable, but nobody really stood out aside from The Comedian and Dr. Manhattan. And just like the comic, the ending really beats you over the head with it's message, but I actually think the movie did this better with a few clunky lines of dialogue, as opposed to pages upon pages upon pages. I loved the way they did the openning credits.

I was a little disappointed. But they did their best with it. Why disappointed? What parts don't you think they did right? The first hour of the movie was good. It kept to the comic and i enjoyed it. But after that, they rushed everything else. Also the actors who played Rorscach and Dr. Manhattan were good, but not really anyone else. The effects were great but the movie itself is not at all.

I heard from one of my friends that it was really really good. But he hadn't read the comic (although after seeing the movie he bought it!)
I might try to see it with some friends of mine. I really want to!!

What issue of the comic did the story start going to fast when transferred to a movie? Yeah, that's awkwardly worded. Let me try again. What issues had their stories rushed? On what issue did that begin?

On what issue did that begin? The whole island part is gone. One of my favorite parts, Rorscach's interactions with the psychiatrist was vastly reduced. There are only like 3 scenes with Veidt, and little character growth is shown with a lot of the characters. None of the history of the original Minutemen is shown, except for the rape stuff and I think one more scene. There is way too much Comedian in the movie, And I didn't like the song choices. Also they action-ized the movie too much. Watchmen is not a comic about superheroes, and I think that they tried to make this movie into that.
