Thanks addicted2lost815 and steve! I am excited about Comic Con, and your help makes it even better. I do have 4 day passes, so I am planning to go over on preview night to check things out, get my badge and hopefully catch the preview of Fringe. I am definitely also planning to go to the Jay and Jack panel. See you there...

There's A LOT of things that are going on at the same time (like Lost overlaps with The Office panel) - my advice is you highlight the ones you really want to go to and make sure you get into those. It sucks, but it's a lot less stressful when you're not trying to run around and be everywhere at once. Once I adapted that mindset (and realized that sending someone to video the panels we couldn't make was what we kept Clif around for ), I was was a lot more relaxed and enjoyed the ones I was at

Steve, try Craigslist or eBay? Thanks, I've been checking those out but it gets really expensive ($150+). Oh well if I don't get the pass, you guys better do a good job filling us all in on what we're missing!

Just in case anyone cares, the Stone Temple Pilots are playing at Qualcomm Stadium the Sunday of Comic Con. I just bought my ticket today, it's their reunion tour. Rumor has it they might even put out a new album. I've always felt they were underrated.

...my advice is you highlight the ones you really want to go to and make sure you get into those. It sucks, but it's a lot less stressful when you're not trying to run around and be everywhere at once. Let me second this. There are way too many things going on. You're not going to be able to do everything you'd like. Look at the schedule on the CC web site in advance and read the descriptions of the panels. Sometimes the title alone isn't enough to know whether you'd be interested. Also, check out the updated schedules posted outside and around the exhibit hall each morning. Sometimes panels and schedules change (Don't worry, the Lost Panel is too big. It won't change.) You don't want to plan to be in one place just to find out the panels' been moved or rescheduled. Planning is key. If you show up in the morning and haven't even looked at the schedule yet, you're likely to miss something that would have interested you. This even pertains to the exhibit hall. Look at the map. Decide what interests you and make an effort to get to those booths. If there are movie or TV studio booths that interest you, go by and check out their schedules for signings or events. Find out what giveaways they have and when they're distributed. Some of the really cool stuff is limited. (And grab all the Lost giveaways you can find. Last year I didn't find the Oceanic Luggage Tags until Sunday!) Realize that it may take 15-20 minutes to walk from one end of the convention center to the other, particularly with the crowds. You can't get somewhere in only 2-3 minutes even though it's in the same building. It's a REALLY BIG building. Check out some of the panels that aren't having Hollywood stars/directors/producers. A lot of them won't be as crowded and they can still be a lot of fun. Whatever geeky fandom you're into, there's probably a panel somewhere for it. If you're by yourself and don't have anything to do at night, look at the con schedule. There aren't any panels, but there are movie screenings and the masquerade, etc. to attend. There's different food at different places inside the convention center. There are pizzas and hot dogs at the stand along the back wall of the convention center and you can usually find a table to crowd in at to eat. But these places probably have the longest lines. There're also pizza and hot dogs at 2 stands on the mezzanine level (go up the escalators behind the middle of the exhibit hall). The lines are often a bit shorter here. There's also food (usually more of the snack variety) under the sails on the top level. Sometimes there's food out the back of the convention center on the top level as well. Outside the convention center, there's a place called Tin Fish (I think?) that's across the street and to the right (toward Qualcomm Stadium) as you exit the convention center. It's really JUST fish, though. A few blocks away is Horton Plaza (I think Jana mentioned this). They have a Food Court with lots of choices (many better than the typical mall food court) on the top level. It's a good place to bring a group on a budget because everyone can find something they'll eat. Near Horton Plaza is a Ralph's grocery store where you can stock up. They also have a takeaway sandwich counter. And, of course, there are a dozens of restaurants all over the area. I've been to CC 14 or 15 times. I always have a good time. But the old days of just wandering around and running into the things that interest you are long gone. That said, do take some time to wander.... you will find something else interesting to do or see!

I even posted a pic after the con here: lostpodcast.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=e&action=display&thread=7054&page=4#177006 . Look at the "Lost Stuff I Got at the Con" link. Since I didn't find the tags until Sunday, I don't think I showed mine to any of you at the con last year.

P.S. Sidne, I'm psyched you're coming again! I have your pink sharpie waiting already Ha! I'd forgotten completely about that. Although I'm not sure how. It's not every day I have someone autograph my back.... Anyway, I'm psyched I'm going to be there and that you all will be back, too!

Royal India and Ciro's Pizza (both on Market St) are really good restaurants that I recommend.

Think if I put an Oceanic luggage tag on my suitcase from now on, I'll have better luck flying?

Think if I put an Oceanic luggage tag on my suitcase from now on, I'll have better luck flying? Wow... it's hard to think that flying Oceanic would be a better experience for anyone. But given your luck flying.... Of course, I myself am charmed flight-wise. I flew back from DC on Sunday and my flight arrived about 20 minutes early and my luggage was out in less than 5 minutes. And I wasn't even using the luggage tag...

Royal India and Ciro's Pizza (both on Market St) are really good restaurants that I recommend. 2nd on Ciro's, great calzones. For people at a loss after the panels on Saturday, I usually get in line for the Masquerade overflow party in the registration area under the sails, where they show it all on a big screen and have free nachos and veggie platters and popcorn and sell drinks, and dancing once the Masquerade ends. If you get bored there are nighttime programs is several rooms right off of there with screenings of movies and shows like Buffy and stuff 'til like midnite. Good times.
