East coast because its closer to home ;D does the uk do that regional thing? In the UK, Wales, Scotland and N. Ireland are considered 'regions' and then England is made up of regions- East and West Midlands, South East, London, Yorkshire and the Humbers, North West etc.. Then we have countys which is like your states- so for example I live in County Powys in Wales.

Can I vote for a separate non-us category? Who says these are US only categories? I am pretty sure England has an East coast and West coast, as well as many other countries.... So If I like the west coast of the state of florida better than the east coast on it, then I would vote west coast.... But, I guess it depends on your point of view.

I'm biased to the East Coast because I've never been to the West Coast. However, from what I've seen in pictures and movies, the beaches look prettier and Oregon seems like a pretty clean/healthy state. I should ask my father, however. He was born and raiesd in Chicago, lived in California for a while, and then raised me on the east Coast in Georgia, which is where he still is today. I was born in Las Vegas, but lived there for only a year and a half, so I don't remember anything about it. Okay, I think I have my answer: AREA 51 ALL THE WAY!!!

i picked east coast, so that my friends won't beat me senseless.

This is a heated discussion in my home every so often. I was born in CA, raised in AZ and my husband was born in NJ and raised in NY. We now live in the south.
West Coast is better! 1. The beaches on the east coast are terrible. Can you even surf over here? 2. The Original Disney park and Sea World 3. San Diego Zoo 4. Real mountains and they are everywhere. On our honeymoon at Lake George, NY my husband referred to us being "in the mountains." I looked around and asked him where the mountains were? I could only see what looked like large hills compared to the Rockys. (maybe the Smokey mountains could compare, but they are only in a small portion of the east coat) 5. Redwood forest. 6. Mt. Rainier 7. Highway 1 8. Arizona sunsets 9. The Grand Canyon

I'm going to go over the top here a little bit.
The east coast - hands down.
To expand the on the above post NYC can overcome the entire West Coast all on it's own.
And to comment on the West Coast list above - with the exception of maybe the Grand Cayon all of those "examples" are unimpressive.
Mountains are overrated. Disney in FLA is bigger and better. You can see some animals at the Bronx Zoo - in NY. There's a beach in the Hamptons on L.I. NY that was rated a top ten beach. And a highway? Come on . . .

I think the western hemisphere beats the eastern hemisphere. I also think Earth is way better than Mars.
Also, the people on the other side of my street, what's their problem? My side of the street is WHERE IT'S AT!

I voting East Coast but that is totally subjective.
The last time I was in California I was only 6 years old and frankly I only remember Disneyland, Seaworld and Coronado. All great places but I have to stickup for my side of the continent.
