Avatars and Signatures

So I must be a total idiot. I have read the general information sticky and still don't get how to put your own pictures for avatar and signatures. I understand that it has to be a url, but how to I make a url or where do I get lost avatars that work. The couple of websites that I searched through has lost avatars, but you have to download them to your computer (they are not on an url). And what if I want to use a picture on my computer already (non-lost related). The same with the signature. The userbar website was the only site I have found that I can get to work, but I want a fun jay and jack bumper sticker in my signature. .

To upload a picture from your computer, go to www.photobucket.com and make an account (it's free). You can upload multiple pictures at once if you want. when you view your album there will be a little box under the picture that has the url for it
