They limited the number of tickets this year and stopped doing on-site sales because the previous year was much more crowded than they expected. Apparently the fire marshalls were there complaining all weekend long last year due to overcrowding.

It was VERY crowded last year. I think it was over 120.000 people plus Jay's ego ;D

I've got my tickets all set up for Comic-Con this year and I am so excited! There's only one problem - there are so many awesome things and a few of them overlap... like the Lost panel and the Office panel... or the Pushing Daisies and Jay&Jack panel...
PD goes until 4:15 and J&J start at 4. This isn't even mentioning the Universal panel in Hall H from 3:45-5:15. When it comes down to it, I may have to stick with my favorite podcasters from Raleigh.
This is my first time to Comic-Con: is possible to try to make it to both?

Hi Supermich - I am glad that you get to attend your first comic con. It is a blast. You have already discovered one of the worst things about CC - overlapping panels. Basically, you have to decided which one you want to see more. Sometimes you can manage part of both (start at the one the starts earlier and then leave before its over to get to the next one.) The other problem is if its a very popular panel, you have to get in line early to assure getting a seat. Still, its a wonderful, mind-boggling experience.
I would recommend checking out the Dharmalars Comic Con Survival Guide podcast from last year and Metrobuzz's Comic Con Here We Come episode from this week. It will give you ideas of what to expect. See you there.

Thanks for the advice, I definitely intend to check out those podcasts as I am a casual listener of both Dharmalars and Metrobuzz. I remember listening to Dharmalars' survival guide last year with envy, only praying I could someday make it to this geek mecca called Comic-Con.
And its excellent to see there's a new guide from Ralph and Ben too! I was wondering if you guys would post a new one - can't wait to listen.
I actually go to school not far from Raleigh, but it has took an internship in LA and trip down to Comic-Con to finally get to see these podcasting greats. See y'all at the con!

I'm going Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and hope to meet up with a lot of you during those days. Unfortunately I won't be at the J&J panel as I am going to a concert that night and am leaving early. Sorry

The only thing I would like about having it in Vegas would be the extra hotels. I love San Diego, so I would be very sad if CC was not there.
Started packing today in preparation. So ready to be there!

Everything I have heard from the organizers of Comic Con is that they want to keep it in San Diego. But I wouldn't like it in Vegas. LA wouldn't be too bad I guess if it had to move.

As a San Diegan I love the convenience, but it would be a great excuse to spend a week in Vegas once a year...

Ah man, I kinda like the excuse to go to San Diego once a year. You never need an excuse to go to Vegas!
