I was just watching Dark City(1998)on DVD and thought that it had some similarity to Lost. The city in question in the movie is actually in space and being used as an experiment by aliens. The aliens are similar to humans, so they kidnapped and experimented on them. They are using drugs to rewrite memories and change behaviors of the humans and learn how they act and react. The conflict of the movie is when the aliens make a human like themselves and make one of the aliens like a human. By infecting each others' populations, it starts a class struggle. Eventually only humans are left to their own devices.

i think its a possibility that the producers may have taken some ideas from the MATRIX TRILOGY MOVIE....and combine it with THE STAND and the HEART OF DARKNESS..

Very cool, zerubabel. Is it a good movie? i think its a possibility that the producers may have taken some ideas from the MATRIX TRILOGY MOVIE....and combine it with THE STAND and the HEART OF DARKNESS.. The way I see it, there have been an infinent number of movies, books, comics etc. that could be construede as parallels to Lost. Simply because every idea the Lost writers come up with has probably been done in a similar, if not exact, way. While I believe that there are some inspirational jumping points, I can't see them ever taking actual plot points from other sources and that these overlaps are merely coiencidental.

It's a great movie. It showcased Kiefer Sutherland at a time that Hollywood wouldn't touch him.
