Hi everyone. I've been listening to the podcast since Season 3 started. I need someone to talk about Lost with or my head will explode, so here I am.

Here's the deal with the karma:
It's just a kinda game on the board here ... an instrument to show either appreciation for a person or someone's contribution to a discussion or an interesting find from the internet .... but it can also be used to as an instrument of dislike for an action a user took or some rude comment.
Each board member is able to exalt (enlarge) or smite (reduce) someone else's karma by one point once every hour.
You can change someone's karma by pressing the exalt or smite button under the name of that person. You have to look out for a posting of the member you wanna exalt / smite. Or look at the bottom of the index page if that member is online and click on the name to see its profile.
Since you can't exalt yourself you will never have an exalt button under your own name. If you exalted someone all buttons disappear for an hour till you're able to exalt someone again.
