Jay and Jack Comic! (Flight815 Survivors Trailer!)

Yeah, I'm thinking about making a comic based on the podcast.

Now, some of you may be saying "But isn't that what the Fusies is supposed to be?" and I would reply, "No, foo'." Then I would smack you and command you to make me a Dharma Peanut Butter Sandwich.

No, the Fusies is based on LOST itself. The comic I'm envisioning would be based on the podcast. Meaning it would star Jay and Jack. And possibly have cameos from other regulars of the podcast, like Igmar or Wesh or people who call in a lot like that (assuming they're okay with that). And, of course, it will have many references to LOST.

Now, assuming I do this, don't expect amazing drawings. My drawing skills are kinda...not...good...like at all.

BUT, what I lack in motor skills I make up for with my literary prowess. I'm good at making plot and stuff like that.

Anyway, all that aside, I would appreciate any suggestions people would have about some things to do in the comic.

To give you an idea on what kind of comic it would be, here are some of the ideas I already have for the comic.

Episode Ideas

• Planned First Episode: Jack loses more of his tallies and insists that the producers of Lost are purposely changing what happens just so his theories would be wrong. Jay calls him a sore loser. However, later that week, Jack gets a mysterious package in the mail that shows deleted scenes from Lost. Deleted scenes in which all of Jack's Crackpot Theories were right (even the Island Olympics)! Discovering he was right all along, Jack goes on an epic quest to find J.J. Abrams and demand to know why they are doing this.
  
• Jay gets a strange dream that tells him needs to make a pilgrimage to a remote island near Hawaii and live of the land. Jay asks Jack to go with him, but Jack refuses because "That's not how I roll, yo. I don't care about any islands without hatches." Jay goes, but afterwords Jack realizes he has no idea how to make a podcast on his own. Originally jubilant that he would never have to do "The Five" ever again, he soon misses the podcast (but not Jay), so he goes to retrieve him.
  
• Jay and Jack go on a flight to Chicago, for some reason I have not decided yet. However, they begin to get afraid when they realize the pilot is none other than Uncle Igmar. This normally wouldn't be that bad...except Igmar got heavily "gin soaked" before the flight, and is currently 1000 miles off course. Jay and Jack try to figure out how to avoid having the plane crash, while various antics ensue. (Note: Igmar, I have nothing but respect for you. Please don't kill me).
  

These are just ideas. Any other ones would be greatly appreciated.

Actually - I love the idea. Trust me - I have no problem laughing with and at myself - OK - laughing at myself - that laughing with myself is a little too scary to contemplate. I'd suggest you put a sample together and send it to Jay and Jack - see what they think. Go for it.

Alright, I've done some character sketches for how the characters will look in the comic.

Now keep in mind, these are just sketches, and they definatly need work. A lot.

Plus they're not that good anyway you slice it.

Remember that part about me not being able to draw so good? Yeah. It's not exactly Penny Arcade, I admit.

Well, hopefully two people will enjoy that. I'll probably draw a short Jay and Jack strip sometime this week, just to show how the actual comic will look.

OK - I like the characture of "Uncle Igmar" - aside from the fact that I would NEVER have a beard like that - I admit that I live in a double wide trailer and drink gin - but unlike Michael's description of "The Others" - I am not a "Hillbilly"

Make the hair shoulder length - add in Zeke's belly - and your bottle of gin

And give Jack hair around the sides of his head - and Jay a silly chin "stache" - and for God's sake - we need eye pupils. LOL

Except for the eye pupils. That's not how I roll, yo. I'm terrible at drawing eyes(I have no idea why, but everytime I try to make pupils, it looks awful).

Anyway, good suggestions.

Ooo, awesome work corey! This looks like a great start (you're further along than I am at any rate!), but do you mind if I give Jay and Jack a few cameos in Fusies as well? All in the context of the island of course.

That's a good idea. I might do that.

Anyway, I'm just going to throw in some more randome ideas for the comic.

Episode Ideas

• A special episode that shows all the insane possibilities for Jay and Jack's origin. Kinda like the Treehouse of Horror from the Simpsons. I haven't gotten all the ideas yet, but one will involve a flashback to the seventies, in which Jack has a massive afro. That part of the episode will also reveal the possible origins of Jack's baldness.
  
• Jack is commited into a mental institution after Jay suspects he has hallucinations. Jay suspects this after Jack goes to his "weekly Dharma meeting," which is, in reality, an AA meeting. However, Jack doesn't seem to realize this, as he talks about Dharma the entire time and passes out gin (which is just the most appropriate thing ever you would want to do at an AA meeting). Jack does not believe he is crazy, but he himself begins to question his sanity himself when he sees Dave (yes, that Dave) show up in his cell.
  
• Jack gets the pair on Survivor. Jay protests stating "Using the bathroom in the woods for months is not my idea of a good time." However, Jay agrees to go along with it after hearing about the prize money. Jay and Jack are put in opposite tribes, along with some familier faces, and soon the rivalry spirals out of control, leading to Lord of the Flies-like insanity.

I'm gonna see if I can do a short example strip today about how the comic will look. Basically the comic will be about how Jay and Jack will survive the summer hiatus.
