i think Jack is Jay's Mother's little brother. this would explain why they would have different last names(btw, does anyone know jack's last name?) and the age difference. they cant just be good friends. i dont drive yet, but i wouldnt trust even my best friend with my car. hey this is my 100th post!

Yes - same last name - it has been stated in a past podcast that Jack is descended from Pennsylvania Dutch stock - and their last name fits that profile - how do I know? I am from Pennsylvania - and we know those things. Also, many of the Pennsylvania Dutch have the same name - Stoltzfus - is a big name. They also inner-marry a lot - not incestuously - more like kissing 4th and 5th cousins - so in closing - Jay and Jack could be like 8th cousins twice removed - Jack is a very good friend of Jay's mom and he is a good friend of Jay - so there it is - or something like that.

yeah. i think so.. i for a wile thought that jack was a priest and worked at like an orphanage where jay lived, and just like they become realy close so jay was like jacks son but he wasn't at all. so then jay grows up and works at that place too and thats why they work at the same place with children and that would be why jack knew that jay drooled in his sleep and such.. but now i think i was just waaaay too tired that night.

When I had mentioned in an email once that I no longer thought that they were father and son, but actually brothers (judging by the way they argue and bicker all the time), Jack replied back saying that Jay was his son.

I think Jack is Jay's father's uncle's cousin's wife's accountant's middle son's former roomate.
