I think it was attempted suicide!
Maybe he um.......I don't know.
Or, maybe Jack's Father operated on him when he was drunk. Jack did say to his father,"it's not the first time it happened."

Ooh, good thought, Ethan. Botched operation. I think Locke would make the connection between Dr. Shephard and Dr. Shephard, though. Of course, maybe he has and just isn't saying anything.

Maybe we're looking at locke the wrong way. What if Locke's ability to walk is just a projection like Kate's Black Horse and Walt's Polarbear. Locke's projection is different because its inward instead running through the jungle.

You mean Locke consciously or subconsciously wished he could walk again and so the Island granted his wish? Interesting idea. Ryan and Jen were talking about the Island on their most recent podcast. One of the listeners thought the Island had special powers to manifest people's desires. Jack wished he could have closure with his father, so saw him on the Island. Walt and the Polar bear. Kate and the Black Horse. They even suggested that when the turbulence happened on the plane that someone on the plane thought, "We're going to crash." Since they were in the Island's sphere of influence, a crash manifested. People are really using their brains trying to figure out this show!

Right. A caller at the end of their show had mentioned the appearance of the horse and polar bear as projections and I sort of linked the two ideas together. Who knows? The theory could be way out in left field. I guess we'll never know until they decide to show us. It is fun trying to guess

If Lost is at all like The Twilight Show, then this would be a classic Twilight Show kind of plot. Didn't Star Trek have a planet like that too? Whatever the crew wished for or thought about, PoP! It appeared.

I was thinking about the Polar Bear/ Stallion issue....
Interesting that the Dangerous Polar Bear is White while the Majestic Stallion is Black, just like Lockes Backgammon board, and all the other stuff that is Black/White; Yin/Yang.

Yes, interesting. All is not what it seems and there is a balance in this dualistic world.

It seems like Locke at times acts good and bad too. Good Locke: Making a crib for Claire's baby. Bad Locke: Convienently unable to walk so Boone has to check out the crashed plane which leads to Boone's death.

So HJ, check this out...
What if Jack and Sarah had a fight and she drove off angry.
Locke is pissed off about something (figures) and is driving off angry.
They crash, which kills Sarah and paralyzes Locke.

So, I am watching West Wing Season 5, and guess what, Locke is the Chairman of the Joint Cheifs!!!
I knew he looked familiar when I was watching Lost, but I never connected it, no wonder he knows how to hunt and stuff...
