This is primarily a poll for the US citizens of this board - however, non Us may answer aswell, since its a boardpoll. I just thought I´d ask about the general view here, now that Obama is pushing the debate and making it an election issue officially. I´m interested in why you think a pullout is a good or bad thing Cheers and thanks for participating in advance. oLO

What is that supposed to mean? I like to stay away from political discussions online because it has made some of my friends angry in the past.

It's called a "debate" if you have support for your opinion and you do it in a respectful manner. No one should get angry at you for your political views.

Way more nicely put than I did Steve; no offense Dani, but in my country it is vital to the people to understand how important the feedom of speech really is (too many were mute during the 30s/40s of last century.) And a healthy fight can even end up in a shared bond and respect for the other persons diff. view.
I personally am, a collector of opinions/perspectives, in order to get closer to an abstract truth.

I choose B. I'm a huge supporter of the Democratic party. I plan to vote come time for decision 08 because I am finally old enough to make a difference. Oh and I just wanted to say that I was slightly offended by this comment: "I'm officially sick & of the poor response and unwillingness to make things work outside of the Karma section."

No one should get angry at you for your political views. But sadly, they do. This country has become so "politically correct" that you can't speak your mind without being persecuted no matter which way you believe. As for how I am voting, I'm not sure. I have to reread the options. At first glance I'd say what everyone else is saying. But that seems too simple for the complicated situation that is in reality.

hmm, loving this now ,things startin to get interesting: "This country has become so "politically correct" that you can't speak your mind without being persecuted no matter which way you believe." This is when your country needs its democratical and courageous citizens most, hard thing to acknowledge btw. A president IS human and critique over his strategies and approaches is NOT Heresy. I could have gone with #1 or #2, but chose 2 because I wasn't for going into Iraq.
To go back to the point that Danielle was making. On other message boards that I've been on, topics like this tend to turn into a flame war without any rhyme or reason to the arguments. Not to say that it would happen to this board, but I'm hesitant to avoid hot button issues online. It is a different story when I'm in person with family and friends because you can have a better descussion. So, Olo we do have debates and discussions in the US. It happends face to face rather than online or on message boards.
I find it tough to trust the media and the news. Especially in the last few years, the different networks report the stories they want and decide how the want to tell it rather than showing the full unbiased story.

Though I know Im not from the US, our troops are in their too so I want to express my opinion. I picked D because I feel now we have started this work, I feel we should help finish it. I remember back in primary school our teacher made us watch when the troops first went in and now, some 4 years later, I feel now we have come this far, we cant possibly consider with-drawing now. Everyday I turn on the news and we hear about a different suicidal attack and some many people killed, I think its obvious the country really needs supoort from us, and I feel as long until some control and order has come to the country, or atleast people can walk out of their house without fear for their lives, thats the time we can with-draw all our troops. Just my opinion.

I toggled between B and D before selecting B. I do whole heartedly believe we never should have gone. I didn't feel that we should go back when it was all starting.
However, now that we have gone and made everything worse, my conscience struggles with the idea of going someplace, making a catastrophic mess, and then leaving others to pick up the pieces... without leaving them the means to pick up the pieces. We shouldn't do that.
However, I still picked B. I picked it because I've felt that way the longest. If you would've asked me years ago, before we had made a mess as big as we have now, I would have said B without thought. We never should have gone because the people in charge were uninformed and had no business meddling there.
And that's my opinion. I also hate to argue.
