Jay and Jack I love your podcasts! I almost enjoy your Ramblecast as much as my real reason to podcast... your Lost Podcast.
I have noticed onething about about you Jay. You have an amazing true rock and roll heart!!! I"m actually a little older than Jack(nothing wrong there!!!) and have always prided myself on staying as cutting edge as possible with my music.
With that in mind it always brings me joy to realize that some of the younger generation out there appreciate the retro, the classic, the really great that was offered in my generations r&r. Just seeing what you are into with QOTSA and Mars(whose new album is better than the last for sure!) tells me you're in tune for some absolutely amazing "70's rock root music".
With that in mind I'll get to the point. May I suggest CAPTAIN BEYOND!!!! Recorded in 1972 it still remains one of my favorite most treasured pieces of hard driving progessive rock and roll.
I turned my nephew who has similar tastes to you to it 4 or 5 years ago and every time I see him he still makes comments on the album.
Trust me. Buy it. It's one of the great lost treasures of rock and roll. I promise you!!!
