Just out of curiousity - and in honor of The World Cup of Football - I was curious about what sports are televised nationally in countries aside from America. Here it's Baseball, American Football, Basketball and Hockey (on a good day). Those are the BIG 4 - after that there's Golf, Tennis, Auto Racing (both NASCAR and Formula One/Grand Prix), Extreme Games, and Poker (DO NOT ASK - IT'S EMBARRASSING). Let me know.

Nascar is the most boring thing to watch EVER. They go around in circles over and over and over... My brother was watching it once, and it was like, "78 laps left... 77 laps left... 76..." Ugh.

Here in Finland Hockey is the most popular one.. Of course many other ones get televised (like the world cup of football now) but they're not as popular here.. Out of auto racing, Formula one is pretty popular (Since we've always had at least 1 pretty good driver out there, Kimi Räikkönen ATM)

Belgium: 1) football (some call it soccer) 2) tennis (Justin Henin just won roland garros, Kim Clijsters did well too (semi-final)) 3) F1 (saturday and sundays) 4) bunch of other sport: handball, basketball, volleyball
No real televisation of NBA, NHL or NFL. A pitty.

yeah, I'm not familiar with the rules and stuff either, but it's like 5 on 5 or something. ah wait wiki to the rescue: handball (sports) A team sport where two teams of seven players each (six players and a goalkeeper) pass and bounce a ball trying to throw it in the goal of the opposing team.

Oh OK - that's not the HANDBALL - I know LOL That sounds more like Lacross (based on an old Native American game) - without the sticks.
The handball that I know is played between 2 players in an enclosed court where all 6 walls are in play but the players must return the ball the the "front" wall - kind of like Squash - but played with hands instaead of rackets.
