Abrams has me for life (even though he already did).
So my best friend and I went to Cloverfield with him not being a big Abrams fan since I push him to watch LOST too much.
Point being, we started watching the movie and not only did he get my birthday into it (4/27) as the start of the whole thing but also my friends (5/22) when it ends! It was Awesome. It was an extremely incredible coincidence that has me as a fan forever.

Wonderful movie. I nearly cried when Hud died. I wasn't too thrilled about another Star Trek movie, but after seeing Cloverfield, I can't wait. Abrams has the Midas touch right now.

I just got back from seeing it and I've avoided ALL spoilers on it. LOVED it. Dharma logo was a nice surprise

I loved it too - quite good - seems like this is everything he really wanted to do in Lost with regards to making you totally emotionally involved with various characters and invested, and then killing them off one by one until none are left (well, didn't the indian gal get off in a helicopter?)
Thought it was similar to what he wanted to do in Lost, with Jack dying at the end of the Pilot. Or I guess he did in a small way with Alias, where her fiance is killed off right away
