Okay I love the Saw movies but this is going too far. They are making another Saw movie. What do others think of this? Poster: Rumored plot: According to a rumor site, the series creator/producer, Leigh Whannell, has once said that many unanswered questions from Saw III will be answered, such as the tape Jigsaw poured wax over, Obi's connection to Jigsaw, among other things. Also, another rumor site credited Jigsaw/John actor, Tobin Bell, as admitting that he signed up for Saw IV. Links: www.imdb.com/title/tt0890870/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saw_IV

First off, the poster here was out many months ago and was fan made. It's not official.
As for the information the rumor site gave, all of that was available in the commentary track on the Saw 3 and Saw 2 Special Edition DVD sets. They talked rather openly about setting things up for Saw 4 AND 5. They also said more than was mentioned here.
Personally, I really like the movies. They are smart thriller/horror movies that don't just become gore fests with a mass murder killing teens. As long as they can keep up the story quality I will keep watching and buying them.

I agree they are great movies but I think they are just trying to stretch the franchise as long as possible. And again I agree I hope they keep up story quality.

So it will probably be a prequel or something? That seems pretty cool, and I also enjoy the Saw movies because of what you guys said, they're movies with plots that have more substance than almost any "horror" movie that has recently come out. I think that as long as they can come up with great ideas for stories than they should keep it up.

So it will probably be a prequel or something? According to the commentary tracks, it will follow the previous movie. John will still be dead, but the movies have always done things with flashbacks and out of sequence events, so he would be able to be in it and we would see his history that way. They also said we would see more of that women from his past we Saw in III. They are not planning on doing a real prequel or having him survive somehow. They are adamant about him being dead, as is his protégé. If they try to stretch this too far out (past what they have planned for 4 & 5) and have to add a NEW Jigsaw, I have a feeling that will be where the story will fall apart and the movies will degrade into just pointless gore. It will also be when I stop being excited to see them.

Funny thing is I have all the movies, yet I have not listened to the commentary tracks on 2 or 3. And I love listening to commentary tracks.

As much as i love the saw films, i would have been quite happy with them leaving it at Saw 3. When i heard that Saw 4 ( and 5) were already planned i immediately thought they were starting to milk it and that it was going to go downhill from here. However after hearing about that they filmed parts in saw 3 that wud be vital for parts on saw 4 i started to gain more faith in Saw 4 and now i just cannot wait for it
