Did anyone watch the Oscars?
Jennifer Hudson best speech. Ellen was hysterical. Abigail, and Jaden were so cute. Jaden is soooo his father's son. I loved Jodie Foster's Dress, it kind of just flowed. And I loved Kate Winslet's.
And that Mark Wahlberg is sooooo hot. He proves that you can drop your pants, and be a white rapper, and still be nominated for an Oscar.
The only one I was really disappointed with was that Happy Feet beat out Cars. I thought Cars was a much better movie. Better and more original. Better graphics, story, and music.
What did anyone else think?

I concur with everything you said, but I didn't see Cars or Happy Feet. My favorite part was the announcer saying, "And now, film star, recording star and excellent reason for high-definition television: Jennifer Lopez!!" WTF? I'm glad The Departed and Scoresese (sorry about the spelling) won. Ellen cracked me up constantly. Marky Mark IS hot, as is Clive Owen. I was also thrilled to see James Taylor play. The Shadow Dancers were really cool actually and Robert Downey Jr. made me laugh, also. So did the Jack Black/Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly musical number.

I liked Cars better than Happy Feet and so did my kids, if that means anything. I personally didn't watch the show because I can't stand Ellen DeGeneres. I used to think she was funny, but I guess my tastes have changed. I appreciate that people like her though - there's different styles for different people! Yes, Clive Owen is uber-hot!!! Did he win? Sorry I missed J.T.! And the musical number sounds hysterical! I'm sure the best parts will be up somewhere soon, so I'll wait for those.

I didn't see Happy Feet, but was surprised it beat Cars. Loved Ferrell, Black, and Reilly. Kate Winslet was beautiful. So sad I couldn't stay awake long enough to see Marty win. I'm looking for a video, anyone spotted one yet? I heart Marky Mark as well, but I say his performance was the weakest of the cast. I was really, really wanting Leo to get nominated and win. Haven't seen Blood Diamond yet. Haven't seen her movies but I'm very impressed with Helen Miren. She looked exquisite, 61 with no obvious signs of plastic surgery. Can't say the same about living legends Peter O'Toole and Clint Eastwood. Who are you trying to fool? What happened to growing old gracefully?

I think the 5 minutes Jerry Seinfeld was talking was funnier than Ellen the entire night.

Did anyone else feel like they were at a movie geek convention when Steven Spielberg (holy sp), George Lucas, and that other guy wearing a bow tie were presenting?
I thought it was pretty funny when Eastwood's v. young date looked personally offended that Ellen didn't want her taking the picture. She was like jumping in the conversation trying to be all "in" and I kind of wish she would have just sat there and look pretty. Stick to her strengths.
And Cars was incredible! How many Oscars do we need to give movies with penguins before we can get over that phase?
I was really happy with "The Big Five" awards. I was super happy that The Departed won Best Picture because I honestly thought it deserved it. That was a great film!!

Hahahaha I completely agree about Clint's date. I'll exalt you when I can do it again lol yeah i thought that moment was really funny too but that wasn't just Clint's young date, but his wife! (well 2nd wife to be exact) yeah i know, shocking right! they have a 35-year age difference between them Oh and I thought that Ellen did a great job and im soo glad that Marty won finally and to me Forest Whitaker's speech was the most touching...oh and I thought that it was hilarious when Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt were onstage to present an award and they did the whole "Devil Wears Prada" scene with Meryl Streep

the most deserved award went to forest in my opinion He´s one of the most amazing faces in hollwood, incredibly gifted + his background makes it the "real american dream" And it also looks like the hispanic community finally shows its presence in the US society among the nominees aswell. But I thought the funniest part was looking at Meryl's face. She is such an amazing actress.

At first she was laughing and then all of a sudden she turned into her "Miranda" character and she was so spot on I was laughing hysterically
