This is a light hearted question and shouldn't be read into too much, yet you make posts analysing the question unnecessarily; i hope you didn't do this with Pepsi Vs. Coke etc. its simple... whos your favourite?, not who would win in a fight they're both fictional characters so the question of who would win in a fight between the two, would, like you said, be a no contest situation, as one is a spinal surgeon and one is a military operative, or something lol. you don't have to apply logic and reason to everything.

I love Lost and 24, but Jack Bauer is my favorite! He did cry about killing his friend but he didn't do it in the jungle - he's such a man he doesn't have to hide! hahahahaha

its simple... whos your favourite? It's that simple, huh? Yet you actually failed to ask that in the original post. You simply left it as a VS post. Versus is usually used for some kind of combat or contest reasons, not a lighthearted popularity vote. Being clear in your usage of language is needed to get your point across, leaving it vague or using terms with a normal expected context without explaining them to mean something different can lead to confusion, as can happen with the use of "Versus". So the concept of a Whiney Doctor VS Trained Killer was amusing to me, hence the posts "analyzing" them. Anyone who gets me knows I am not taking this seriously, but finding amusement in the absurdity of it. It should also be clear that I don't care for Jack Shepherd as I constantly use negative terms (like "Whiney Doctor" above). Does this mean I like 24 better than Lost? Not at all, just that I don't care for Shepherd. I could get into all the bland reasons I don't care for him, but that's not fun and doesn't amuse me as much as going down the other path and thinking of them in a true VS. match. As for applying logic and reason "to everything", you are right... but I enjoy applying logic and reason where it fits and makes sense (or where it doesn't to expose other errors, but that's something completely different). This being set up as a Versus situation with two completely uneven characters was ripe for sarcasm and wit in the form of overblown logic and reason. Now, explaining the gridwork behind the humor front ruins the humor of it (at least in most cases), but it was clear you didn't get it. I am also sure this is going to come off as me being mean or angry somehow, but I am sitting here with an amused smirk on my face as I type this. Not all humor is the same and not everyone is amused by the same things. I don't generally laugh at bad puns and fart jokes, but I know a lot who do (like my dad). I found the thread here amusing for different reasons than you appear to have meant it to be. Doesn't make either of us wrong for doing it.

ok brilliant, your obviously a very articulate person, with a rare sense of humour that i can relate to, when you said that the people who know you, will realise that you aren't taking it seriously, well i obviously don't know you and misconstrued what you were saying.
