hey, what do you guys think of the zune ? and do any of you have one ? is it better than the ipod ? sorry if theres already a thread, i could'nt see one.

Okay... try and keep the outbursts of laughter away for a moment... Try and be serious about the Zune.

The screen looks nice, but the interface needs a lot of improvement (but then it was made by MicroSoft, so no surprise there). The fact that it adds DRM to EVERYTHING put on them is a major issue for me (and a lot of others), and not only because that breaks the laws when dealing with a lot of legally obtained Creative Commons and other Open Copyright materials. The whole 3 days or 3 plays bull, even if you made the file yourself is just wrong. The wheel-looking thing that is just a toggle is a joke.

The only really nice thing I have to say about it is it includes a radio tuner in it.

And who was the genius over at MicroSoft that decided they were going to call song sharing "Squiring"? Ewwww.

Haha Dragavan, thats funny. Some kid at my school wanted to look at my phone, so he said I could look at his zune, I just laughed and said no. Then I walked away..... yea i told him.

I've seen a couple zunes, nothing really impressive, just the bigger screen. The "sharing" thing is indeed stupid. One of my friends said he was going to trade in his ipod for one, but I don't like him so I didn't tell him not to. And he tried to convince me you can play your songs from itunes, but he wouldn't listen to me when I told him you couldn't, oh well.

i share the same thoughts with you, its no ipod beater in my opinion, but the 3 plays thing is good in a sense.

Yeah, heard pretty good things about the screen and battery life - good hardware design. The subscription music service isn't supposed to be too bad, but microsoft's DRM system really sucks and isn't even compatible with other DRM systems they make others use. It's pretty screwed up.

Also, what Drag said about it auto applying it's own DRM to anything put on it, including music you might have made yourself. That is really heavy handed.

Who knows maybe some future firmware update will adjust some of these issues, but I'd not jump to it for now...
