I want to back up my music without wasting like 40 CDs, so does anyone have a method for me? I have a Dell.
BTW: Someone told me something about a "torrent for file crossing" but i looked for one and i really have no idea what that even is... help?

Is your iPod formatted for a mac or PC right now?
If it is for a PC, you should just be able to install iTunes on the PC and authenticate it (assuming you have any bought songs) and then synch them together.
If it is for a Mac and you want to get them on the PC, you need something that will mount a mac volume on a PC, like MacDrive - I think they have a free 5 day demo. Install that and you should be able to do what I described above, but from a Mac iPod to a PC.

I did this over turkey break. There's a variety of free tools that will do it for you, PodUtil is the best for free because most of them are trials that will only let you import a certain number of songs at a time. Altho there are others that have cool features like naming the .mp3 files so that they all match or working faster. Only downside to PodUtil is that you have to click okay every 50 songs in demo mode
