Ok, I know what youre thinking: "Boy, Benry sure is showing his feminine side." Well, I got paid to see this movie, so there. Acting: Pretty good. Kirsten Dunst (as many of you know) is my McDreamy, and she is smoking in this movie. She is so fine . . . oh yeah, back to the movie ;D. The acting is good. Um, yeah, gonna go hide over there. Score: B Story: Decent, the ending is quick, like the beheading that you never see. (Then again, I would hate to see Kirsten lose her head. ) There are some plotholes, and they could have done a better job showing the repression the French went through, but all in all, decent. Score: C Soundtrack: The movie opens up to British rock music. Yeah. Sofia Coppala uses modern music to complement the ravishing styles of the Victorian era, and it suprisingly works. Very catchy, and a must buy soundtrack when it hits shelves. Score: A Kirsten Dunst's Hotness: You didn't think I wouldn't throw this in, did you? Come on! 'Nuff said! Score: A+ Final Score: B- Good movie to take your date (alas, I have none ). Oh, well, I can always bask in Kirsten's beauty!

I LOVE movies about French history, but as its made by an American, I dunno if I'd watch it without throwing tomatoes on the screen. Btw, I can't think of one good movie about French history without Gerard Depardieu...
Maybe I'll give it a try if my best friend wants to watch it... :-) no date, too. But my husband would strictly refuse to watch it. He watches only Franch movies OV with subtitles in cinema *g*.

UPDATE:
I will be seeing "The Prestige", a movie I am greatly looking forward to seeing, possibly over the weekend, so I will have a review up of it as soon as possible.

I didn't see it yet but one of my friend told me that the story told in this film is not really complete and Marie Antoinette is only shown like a victim...
