So, what gives you chills in the night, as you watch in the dark? Is that a demon under the bed, or just your cat? MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
Ok, enough of that. For me, it would have to be the Grudge 2 trailer. God, I had nightmares for days after seeing it, which is funny since I thought the first one was stupid. Well, post and admit!

This is a great thread to start with it being October and all. But that Grudge trailer is nothing. I didn't really like it and wasn't really scared.
The scariest movie I did see was probably 'The Excorsist'. I remember when I first watched it, it was with my sisters. We didn't get any sleep for a week, then I saw that 'Nightmare on Elm Street' which freaked me out even more. It didn't help that we we're that far from an Elm Street either. I'm also a HUGE zombie flick fan. But those I like coz I love the Resident Evil series (not the movies, the games), but ones like '28 Days Later' are freaky.

Dawn of the Dead was dumb, hated Exorcist, and the only reason the trailer gave me nightmares was because of that girl contortionist. *shudder* Actually, me and a bunch of friends are gonna dress up like zombies and parade our mall. We are doing it for a movie we are making, and it is gonna rock!

I don't watch a lot of this stuff cause I am pretty much a wimp ... but the last time I got really scared in the movie theater was watching "What Lies Beneath" with Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Good choice. Also, I really got freaked out by Donnie Darko! *shudder* Demon Rabbit = Freaky! I finally saw that movie some months ago, and it was freaky. It reminded me a lot about Lost with its turbine engines and time anomolies. Anyways, another film I thought was scary was that 'Poltergeist' movie, the first one. I really can't remember the details or even if I was scared, its been a while. But I thought what happened off the set was scary. Many of the actors died after the films came out, including the old creepy man in the film who knew he was going to die but wanted to be in the film. The little girl in front of the TV died from an unexpected illness, as well as the girl who played her older sister, who was strangled by her boyfriend. Even though a lot of people believe the 'curse' as just a coincidence, still, that's pretty darn scary. I also found some facts on it, with the director being the same one who directed the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a true horror flick in its own right. www.eonline.com/On/Holly/Shows/Poltergeist/

I get more afraid by things that are fairly simple... I love when not much is shown and more is left to your imagination. What my imagination can conjure tends to be so much more scary than what they show. Also, the unknown is scary. I am thoughrally freaked out by unexplained images in mirrors, the result of a recurring dream I have. Every time I see something on TV or film with an unexplained image in a mirror, I have the dream again, and it's very scary. This happened on an episode of Dark Angel, and in a recent episode of A Haunting on Discovery channel. I find this to be especially scary when associated with the colour red... ... which brings me to the episode of Supernatural called "Bloody Mary," the scariest thing I have ever seen. They don't show a lot for the most part, just pools of blood. Somehow this makes it all the more terrifying. I enjoy things like this much more than the current big budget horror films. Hinting at the gore, rather than showing it is a lot more chilling in my opinion. As for zombies, I'm a big fan. Someone said Dawn of the Dead was dumb, and I hope they don't mean the original. It was fantastic. While I don't usually find zombie movies to be very scary in themselves, the idea of zombies (post-modern zombies anyway) is very scary. My friends and I did the dress up as a zombie thing last Halloween. It was great fun, and we are probably going to do it again this Halloween. We just dressed up and went to our classes and jobs as zombies. Then we stumbled around and chased people during lunch.

I saw the sequel last night...it's terrible But the last scary movie I saw and I loved was the "The Hills Have Eyes" remake, this is really a good one. And the director, Alexandre Aja, is french ;D

I also loved The Hills Hve Eyes.Great movie, but not the scariest. When I was little, Chucky (the first one,and only the first one) scared the living daylights out of me.But now I am over it.
so, the scariest movie for me would have to be The Grudge. Not only because it was pretty drn scary, but also because after I saw it, I would get Paranoid when I went to be or when I was alone at night on the street with one light working or when I heard a noise that resemble the wierd gargaling sound.

It did actually really happen... I think. Someone where I work went to see it and they said they heard it happened somewhere near a town called Fredricksburg, off in the Hill Country, northwest of here I think. So be afraid! I saw one of those life size Leatherface's at this Halloween store I went to. It was funny hearing people scream randomly throughout the store as it revved up the chainsaw as they walked by it.
