My World Lit. professor just announced today that some casting people are looking for extras from my city to be in the show. She said they'd pick whoever wanted to join would be taken to Austin where they film the show to be an extra. I thought that was cool, but I'm not a fan of football.

If you get a chance, take it. It would be worth it for the experience, even if you aren't a big football fan. Yes, it has a lot to do with football, but it also deals with life and fighting against the odds and what you want to be/do or believe in. It just got the nod for 10 more eps and the pilot will be re-aired in the time slot after Heroes at the end of the month.  |

The TV Guide Podcast loves this show and Kyle Chandler. I trust the taste of those TV Geeks so I will check it out now. 
No offense about your taste intended, addicted2lost ... it's just that I already cover so many shows that I sometimes wait for a bit feedback from different sides before I invest ...

Friday Night Lights is one of my three favourite shows - Right next to Lost and Battlestar Galactica. Really top-notch. Definitely the best new show of the season.

Yeah mine too LOST is my first then Battlestar Galactica and then I don't really have a real lineup after that but Friday Night Lights is up there somewhere |

No offense taken Casper. There are quite a few shows that deserve our attention and not enough hours or video tape/tivo space to record them all. As it is, I have had to tape one show while watching another two nights a week. Even though I am a huge football fan, I don't know if I would have tuned in if not for Kyle. But after watching the show, I would watch even if Kyle was not on the show. It is such a well done program. |

I'm so glad that NBC is giving it a shot. Heroes is on right now, so it will air in about 50 minutes here. Can't wait (though I love Heroes too, so no hardship watching it until FNL comes on.) |

Wonderful episode tonite. Best of the year so far. Sarecen finally got the respect he deserved, and despite the reprecussions that will come on Coach Taylor later on, he did the right thing by booting "Voodoo" off the team. I was literally jumping in the air when he made that two point conversion!

Great episode. Taylor's expression just before the final play was priceless.
You knew something was going to happen at the end - things were just too good for Coach Taylor.

I really don't care for football, so I wasn't going to watch it for that reason..but it was brought up on Jay and Jack's pod cast so I thought i'd give it a try...really was a good show and i will be watching it from now on...I also use to watch Early Edition with Kyle Chandler starring in it...loved him and the show...I was so sorry when it went off the air..it was one of my favorite shows... and yes..benxtaron, it was about him getting tomorrows newspaper the day before...
