OK, now guys (and gals) my cousin conned me into taking her to see a concert. Not just any concert. Not a concert of my choosing, but a concert to someone I've never heard of. So I turn to you, my music savvy friends. Have I commited myself to a night that will end in thoughts of beating my head against a brick wall? -or by chance am I in for a good time? The cousin in question is 13, and ONLY allowed to go if I go. I have to be "responsible." So, what am I getting myself into? HELP!!!

Fall Out Boy... see, she listed a bunch of other people, but I don't remember, and she said it was May 3rd, and the only concert near us is in Charlotte NC, on the 2nd. Maybe she's confused on everything and wer'e REALLY going to see Ben Folds!!! Yeah, I'm a dreamer... ever heard of these guys?

Yeah, I've heard of them.... I'm not a fan. But if you like mainstream radio-friendly emo you should be good to go.

I used to listen to a lot of Something Corporate and Dashboard Confessional, and I still like some Death Cab for Cutie... is that stuff similar?

You guys don't know what emo is, do you? Fall Out Boy is closer to- like- easy-core punk rock than it is emo. Emo's like... Hawthorne Heights (who just so happen to be playing at the show as well, along with All American Rejects ). FOB is in my top 5, they're way rad. I was an original fan years ago before their new album came out last year. I was in love with their first album, and when the new one came out, I was amazed at the band's evolution. I litterally don't skip any tracks on either of their cd's. It's not a bunch of stupid rhyming lyrics that ammount to a pile of crap...
They're a lot of fun live, although, the lead singer's voice isn't so hot compared to on the CD... I've seen them live twice, they put on an exciting show. Don't listen to the nay-sayers on this thread, you'll enjoy it...

Fall Out Boy sucks, according to a friend of mine who went to a concert of them. He always calls it 'emo music, with lyrics about suicide and stuff', but I don't really know if that is true or not.
