Here's a question for our frriends in Europe and other far flung places - Aside from LOST - what other American TV shows can be seen in your country on television. This doesn't count what you can download from the Internet. And are those shows shown in English with subtitles - or are they dubbed in your native language?

In Finland: The good thing is that most of the popular shows can be seen (24, CSI, E.R., OC, a lot of reality series ..etc,) and they are subtitled, not dubbed. The bad thing is we have to wait a long, long time to see the latest episodes. I guess that's why so many people (including me) download their favourite shows from the internet. I don't actually watch tv much. If 'Lost' doesn't count, the last time I was really hooked on a tv series, it was probably 'Band of Brothers'. And 'Sex and The City' (Hey, I'm a girl!)  |

yup, same as Jeesusstikku. Many of the same shows seen in the US, though they arive here alot later. Subbed is always better then dubbed. Belgium is split up in 2 parts: Flanders and the Wallon (i guess that's how it's translated into english). Flanders speaks Dutch (like in Holland) and Wallon speaks french. In Flanders it's all subs, though in Wallon, they like to dub things in French (just like in France). I can't possibly watch french dubbed stuff. It's horrifying!
Also the newer shows like Grey's Anatomy and stuff, havent aired here yet. A couple of months ago Invasion started to run here too.
We haven't got Kimmel or SNL or fun stuff like that. We do have Oprah, Leno and Conan late night on CNBC.
bottomline: we got some stuff and we lack some other stuff. And it's all subbed.

In Sweden nothing is dubbed either - foreign shows are subtitled.
We get almost all US/Canadian and some British shows here, from talkshows (like The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno, Late Night w/ Conan O'Brien, Late Show w/ David Letterman, Oprah, Dr. Phil (unfortunately), the British Parkinson) - most of them airs only a week after they air in their original country.
We get all kinds of comedy series - both the old ones (M*A*S*H, Cheers, Mork and Mindy doesn't air anymore :'-(, Dharma & Greg, Family Ties, Friends, etc., etc.) and the newer ones (Scrubs, Everybody loves Raymond, My name is Earl, Joey, etc., etc.). However - these series are often aired around half a season later than in the States.
I think we get pretty much the same shows as you do, but then of course we get our own Swedish shows too, and other shows from other countries.

in england we get a lot of american shows.stuff like the simpsons,friends,family guy,king of the hill,scrubs,my name is earl,everybody loves raymond and loads of other stuff.we usually have to wait ages though

lol yeah i'd love to see an episode of Lost or Friends, where they all have these heave britisch, scottish, welsh or irish accents hilarious! |

I was curious about this because I saw some promo commercials for Germany where it looked as if Jack, Kate and Charlie were dubbed in German.
