About the scene after the credits: My bro said he heard it's that black guy who they see on the TV who's in a coma's body. They were talking about whether it was ethical to put someone who's got cancer's mind into that body. Looks as if Xavier has put his mind in

The movie was at best, alright. I mean the fan boy in me can really get into a few little things, but that's about it. I really disliked how they could butcher the story of Pheonix and also rip off Josh Whedon's story from "Astonishing X-Men". If this movie was to complete a triology then it ruined everything built up to that point. X-Men 1 wasn't all that great either, but it at least set the stage for X2. I'm not mad at Brian Singer for leaving the franchise to work on something. I'm mad at the powers that be to greenlight a busted film where all it did was introduce a new character ever 5 seconds without giving that individual a chance to be developed. f**k X3.

It was okay. A lot of little things drove me completely nuts, but I didn't walk out, so I gotta give it props. Then again, I didn't walk out of Poseidon so I guess that doesn't mean much.

I suppose I'm the odd ball. I did grow up reading the comics, in fact I read them through college. But I LOVED this movie. I really did. I understand that these particular actors are only signed on for 3 movies, so they wanted to get a lot in with this group so they sped some things up. But in terms of Magneto losing his powers, you could tell by his moving the chess piece at the end that the "cure" is not permanent, so they will all be back to normal if they choose to do X4. I was totally glad to see Iceman get strong enough to finally turn into complete ice, that made me happy. I love the way they made Jean/Phoenix look even though it was more dark phoenix than phoenix, but it stilll rocked. And I love that Xavier put his consciousness into the coma patient, (and isn't Moira the woman that becomes his wife in the books? I don't remember it was a long time ago) I mean you know he couldn't die. And you never see Scott's body so you can't assume he's dead either. And I swear Phoenix died like 3 times in the books....but she always comes back. I don't know I really loved it. So did my husband, granted he didn't read as much of the books, he's mainly a wolverine fan.

Your husband rocks! I love Wolverine! Hugh Jackman is the perfect actor for him!

Like the "Da Vinci Code", X3 was, at best, workmanlike. Brett Rattner and Ron Howard--artists? Hmmm...And lordy, except for Jackman, McKellen and Stewart, horrid performances all around. I think the Halle Berry Oscar is now proven to have been a fluke.
I believe one of the biggest problems that hollywood movies face at the moment is that there are so many high-quality, well-written and excellently-shot TV shows that are unconsciously raising the bar for action/suspense/mystery--as well as shortening the lengths of our attention spans (watching so much Lost, CSI, Sopranos, Buffy, Veronica Mars, I now have the attention span equivalent to that of a gnat).
JJ Abrams or Joss Whedon--2 great writer-directors whose skills were honed in TV--should've been brought in to save X3. Or Rattner could have turned to his own show, Prison Break, to get some suggestions on the kind of action and dialogue that makes for great heroes and good storytelling.

THAT is a shock that Rattner did Prison Break. I love Prison Break, but his directing in X3 in no uncertain terms sucked. He really ruined the feel and characterization that is Xmen. Plus the fact that he ruined the Phoenix storyline, I am suprised that he hasn't been crucified by comic book fans everywhere. I know that sounds harsh, but I am beginning to feel let down from all the movies out right now (other than United 93) that absolutely suck, like Poseidon and X3. Oh, and Halle Berry does not deserve Storm's role. Period.

Magneto lost his powers where he and Professor X went to that weird island and they both lost their powers. Professor X was walking and Magneto didn't have any powers at all. But not in the Phoenix saga I think. I saw all the cartoons an maybe read 1 or 2 comics but was more into the cartoon.
Superman IS going to be great. <folding his his hands to pray>

By the way, the cartoon series rocked, whoever said that they saw it. Great voiceovers, excellent plotlines, and edgy and cool.

It's like she was just a side character. I think a huge problem was the script. Who the heck adapted this thing? They have to learn how to write!

Yea. It seemed like everything was a side everything, from the characters to even the plot line. Did these guys even read the friggin comic books or watch the good tv show? They went all hollywood on it, and ruined X-Men for me. Let me write this for them, and without boosting my ego, it would have been perfect, cause I know how the storyline and characters were meant to be played out.
