I know there is a x-men/starbucks hybrid thread but i figured that was mostly coffee discussion;) Since i am going to discuss the movie, for those who haven't seen it ill put it in spoiler tags were needed I for one am disappointed in this movie. They took one of my favorite Comic Book Stories and just made a beefed up action movie with dazzling effects, and no heart. The Phoenix Saga was ruined in my opinion, heck the cartoon got it better. The death of Cyclops, and Professor X was just terrible. Two of the most important characters were just thrown to the wayside like they were red-shirts. I have a lot more to complain about, but I'm just mad. I won't even give it a thumb. I was so excited after X-2 to see what would come next. Brian Singer's Superman better be the best movie ever, because I'm mad that he let a potential awesome movie become a joke. My suggestion, watch X-2 again, and think up your own sequel, because anything you can think up would be better than X-3

I already posted this on the other thread, but here are my thoughts:
I liked the movie...it was a good summer movie, action-packed with great special fx. But I am a girl who did not grow up reading the comic books. ;D

I just got back, and I'm with Jay. Not a very great movie. it was decent, but exceedingly corny When the angel guy broke out and did his pose, it was so horrible that I couldn't help but laugh. I agree, cyclopse and xavier were both j ust suddenly killed with no substance. Never read the comics, but this one just wasn't as good ast the first 2

Oh dear...maybe I won't see this...
What am I saying, of course I'll see it. But maybe just for mocking purposes....
I a little young to be reading the original comics, but I do borrow a lot of the newer ones from my friends. I was really, REALLY hoping they wouldn't screw this up...but it looks like they did.

I completly agree Jay They hardly did anything with Cyclops. "Oh I think he died" and then nothing else for the rest of the movie about him, until the end.
Oh yeah did you notice how it got dark suddenly after Magneto moved the bridge? Just like the walk back to the hatch...

did anyone see the scene after the credits? that nurse lady (i think the actress was elizabeth hurley) is standiing next to a man in a bed with a heart monitor and other medical stuff, the camera comes in closer to her and we never see the guys face then he speaks, all he says is her name (patrick stewarts voice) and she looks at him and says "charles" my opinion, there is going to be numero 4

well, i'm not too familiar with the comics either, but i must say i rather enjoyed the movie. I understand that people who know the background storyline and characters better by having read the comics, might have felt it wasnt true to it's nature and all. But i still think it was a nice popcorn movie. Nice effects, nice climax, yeah i liked the storyline too. I just took the movie as it is, with no real expectations and i wasn't disappointed. I'd recommend him. I missed the extra scene after the credits! I hate it! But thanks for the description Casey D! Maybe it wasn't really him exploding in that house, but maybe only an 'astral projection' of him; which in effect, caused alot of physical and mental strain on his body, so that's why he's in the clinic?

(stuff about the hidden scene) or maybe his powers put his body back together, because he said jean's powers were subconscious. Or perhaps he put up one of those mental bariers he was going on about

"His name is Logan, W..." "Wolverine. Yes, I've heard you're quite an animal." "Look who's talking."
