Extremely small SPOILER (ALERT) for the movie below; it doesn't give anything significant away, unless you were hoping to catch the Lost reference on your own. I went and saw MI:III last night. Although looking for the reference to Lost most of the time, it actually slipped right past me and I didn't realize it until near the end of the movie. While in a plane going down, Ving Rhames' character makes the comment, "I hope the Losties are keeping the hatch warm for us!" Okay, that would have been way over the top. Actually, while Cruise's character goes by Ethan Hunt in his 'normal' life, at the IMF office, and while out on assignment, there is one small part in the movie in which he receives mail under a pseudonym. His cover name? Mr. Kelvin. (That one's no joke; that truly is the reference made in the movie) So if you've ever wondered about Kelvin, add this to your repertoire of knowledge: he can't HANDLE the truth (the Scientology jokes were too numerous to pick just one, so I stayed away from them).

Oh dude I can't wait! My school is having a screening of the movie tomorrow night (big perk of being a film student in Hollywood). Our theater is gonna be PACKED for MI3! Wanna know more about my school? Go here: The Los Angeles Film School(I know, lame plug, but if you're interested then you'd be appreciative)

I was hoping for a bigger Lost refference than the name, though. I'm so bummed! But still pumped! Phillip Seymore Hoffman is the main reason I'm excited, he's an awesome bad guy!

PSH is good - but there is not enough of him getting to be bad in the movie. Regarding the Mr. Kelvin reference, I was actually thinking during the movie that it would be a good/funny reference if Cruise's character went by Mr. Rom; or if reference had been made to his cousin, Ethan Rom (since the guy that played Ethan Rom is Tom Cruise's cousin - I explain all this like people on this board don't already know that. I just like to hear myself talk type.

Wow then that guy is screwed. I would be too scared to get close enough to him to get a signature.

Okay, maybe I have too much Lost on the brain but here is what I found in Mi3
1 - Greg Grunberg, the pilot, has a cameo in the beginning. He seems to be in everything JJ does. Pretty cool huh?
2 - I won't get into the whole story but Tom Cruise's heart is stopped and his girl starts giving him CPR. It is not working so I am thinking she needs to pound on his chest a la Dr. Jack. She does and he comes back. Oh darn! Made me laugh that I knew what she was going to do.
3 - At the end of the credits, under special thanks it says The Hanso Foundation for the very last one.
I forgot about the Kelvin.

Yep, I caught all of those. Did you also catch the music? Michael Giaccino (sp?) was the composer for MI3, and durring the stopped heart scene, he had music much to the style of the Lost theme (the single chords on the piano). The wide helicopter shot of the bridge (before all the chaos went dow) had an actual Lost tune over it... I smiled in my seat.
But yeah, I was excited to see Grunberg, as well. The stopped heart scene was so predictable. I whispered to my friend next to me "She's gonna slam her fist on his chest. Just watch." I was also super excited to see Hanso as the final special thanks on the list, too.
Overall, a very entertaining movie. It did it's job.

Can't wait to watch it then. Heard quite some bad comments about it, so it's nice to hear something.. nice I'll just get in there with no expectations and go with the amazing flow.

When the Brassel asked Musgrave why he sent a team to China, the name Musgrave said I think had Sayid in it as the middle name. I'm not 100% sure about it though.

After thinking about the film more today, I've realized that I'm a little disapointed with it... Oh well, it was free, I can't complain.
