Well I just went to a late showing of Chronicles of Narnia, and I must say it was a very good flick. Definitely Worth checking out. Granted its no LOTR, but i really don't think that it is intended to be, no matter what people say.
So i give it 3 1/2 stars

Well, Harry Potter is going to be a bigger hit...no matter how poor I thought the movie was...just because it's Harry Potter. I'm looking forward to seeing Narnia, though. I read them for the first time when I was four and have been reading them over and over again ever since. Do you know if they really hype up the religious allegory? I know I might alienate some of you when I say this, but when I found out Aslan was supposed to be Jesus, it kind of ruined the book for me.

Narnia was very good. I give it 10/10.
MOVIES SAWYER CAN'T WAIT FOR: -Pirates of the Carribean 2 (Dead Man's Chest) -Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (Even though it will be poorly made. I don't even want to look forward to #5...they're going to kill it like they killed the 3rd) -The Hobbit (Tentative Title)

Oh man...I cannot wait for The Hobbit! Ian Holm was PERFECT as Bilbo, I think he was probably the best cast in all the picture. Just the right mix of loftiness and Baggins personality. I would be severely disappointed if they got anyone else.

So you've heard that they're making the Hobbit as well?
Some people say it was a spoof, but I heard it from New Line so I take it to be true.

Well, I know Peter Jackson wanted to do it. He just wanted to do King Kong first. I can't imagine New Line wouldn't want to do a prequel to their most profitable franchise. Although I'm sure they'll screw around with the timeline like they did in the first movie and put in little Frodo, Merry, Pippin and Sam in there somewhere. I know things like ages aren't that important, but it still irked me that Merry and Pippin were so old at Bilbo's birthday party. They should have been 19 and 11. And Frodo should have been 50 when they set out! But I'll stop now. ;D

You know i can see the parallels to Aslan and Jesus, but I still think C.S. Lewis intended the story to be that, A story. The whole sacrifice thing has been a mainstay in human literature, and stories since forever. So i say that the story wasn't a direct allegory to Jesus.

If you read bios of CS Lewis, Lewis did intend for Aslan to symbolize Jesus. There are a lot of parallels in the story and movie, many of which are from the bible.

Lucky! I want to see that, and King Kong.
I'm sorry Sawyer, but no there won't be a Hobbit film at least for a long time. 1. Peter Jackson is going to direct 1 (or was two) more movies in the near future (at least).
2. no I don't think that New Line is set to do it yet.
3. there's not script yet so even if PJ were do get started right now it wouldn't be out for at least another 4 years or so.
sorry to burst your buble, but I don't think it's going to happen for at least another 10 or more years, if PJ is to direct it.

My Mom bought me a book of Greek myths for my fourth birthday that I read over and over and over again until the binding started wearing thin, so my Mom bought me some new books. Mostly old adventure books that she loved, like Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings. I didn't read The Hobbit and LOTR the whole way through until I was nine and ten. I told you guys I liked books. ;D
