I just spent ten minutes writing an email to this guy www.newsobserver.com/105/story/1447415.html and I accidentally hit the page back key. Is this a sign that I should not be writing him that nasty email to tell him I thought he was rude and that J&J raised over 12,000 so there?

I was trying to click the left arrow key and i hit 'page back'. I hate that button. I'll work on rewriting it. I still would send it to that guy.

I feel like I am dead to the internet I MISSED TRIVIA WAR LIVE AND NOW THIS! How was it, everyone? (From what I've briefly read) it sounded amazing! And I am so happy for Jay and Jack that the total is so incredible! I'm going to ask my parents to make a donation ASAP. Is there any official "donation end" date? x

Hello Joe,
I would like to give you some constructive criticism about your article (http://www.newsobserver.com/105/story/1447415.html) that discussed a 25 hour podcast hosted by Jay and Jack Glatfelter. So let's start there: their last name is not Gladfelter.
While Jay and Jack do appreciate your publicity about their event, I found your article rather degrading to Jay and Jack and all that they do. Although they don't get people like Clay Aiken, Jorge Garcia called from Hawaii into the podcast and talked for three and a half hours. The fact that Jorge would donate his time to talk with fans about Lost and shoot the breeze with Jay and Jack says alot about their podcast.
Although you wouldn't know them as celebrities, there were many other well known lost podcasters at the event. Ralph (dharmalars.net) of the Dharmalars called in from California to talk with Jay and Jack somewhere around 4amEST. Ryan and Jen (hawaiiup.com/lost) of the Transmission called in from Hawaii at 2am EST. These people also took time out of their days to talk with Jay and Jack and made donations to the cause.
I feel your article should haven given the guys a lot more credit. These are two average people who set out to raise money for a cause they believe in. Last year, their 23 hour podcast raised over $6,000. This year their goal was $10,000. They reached this goal 4 hours before the end of the show. The final tally at the end of 25 hours of podcasting was over $12,000. There will be more because of the checks sent by mail to their PO Box.
I'd like to see a follow up article celebrating the success of the event. It's amazing how much money we raised to help find a cure. If you'd like pictures of the sweet cake they were eating at the iceplex (it was shaped like the Autism Speaks Logo), please let me know.
Thank you for your time, Danielle
Any thoughts on my email? I enjoy writing these kinds of things.

Don't forget about Ed! That guy called in at least twice (that I heard) and when he was on, donations went up! Got to give him a lot of credit for that. For a ref, he's a pretty good cheerleader too. I wonder what kind of donation would it have taken to get him into the outfit? But I digress. He told stories in exchange for donations, and even told a few based on the chat. Now, here's a guy who not only calls in, but talks about whatever and even follows along with a chat online (which was scrolling mighty fast I should say). Not to mention he even talked a little about "The Call" - which takes a lot of guts to do on a live show hosted by someone who is a big fan of the team that got, well, robbed.
I don't know if it would be worth mentioning Daniel Dae Kim and the kid who played Walt (his name eludes me at the moment) being possible guests on the show too. Gotta love schedules and huge time differences.

Cindy - all good points, but I didn't feel comfortable talking about Ed- i have no idea what he said or did for the podcast, so I wasn't going to say things I didn't know were true. Although I did not attend for Ralph or Ryan and Jen, I knew they were there and I was trying to make a point that they were in weird time zones, but still wanted to call in.

Oh Ed was great. He kept really pumping people up to continue to vote. And he was telling stories about certain teams or players if you pledged some money. It was so much fun. I got a Brett Favre story. And Jorge was awesome. He told a lot of really great stories too. I hope next year we will get up to $15,000.
