What a shame that people are smiting a young man that just turned 13 yrs. old, for no better reason than he's posting comments on everything, or he's not putting enough thought into some of his postings. Well I am putting a lot of thought into this one, and shame on the people that are smiting pogs for such reasons that were posted  He's a very nice young man that has had fun making friends on the boards here, and pogs if I could I would give you 100 exalts right now, I feel so bad at what is going on. You do have some real friends here that really do care about you., so you just keep being who you are no matter what  +48 for now my friend. Look, it's not that we don't like him, it's just that I come here to READ threads, and when there are 3 pages of useless chit-chat it can get pretty annoying. There is a PM system for that reason. It's ok every once in a while to talk about something off the topic, but a short one word post or meaningless posts that don't add anything to the conversation really get annoying. Threads aren't a chat room, they should continue to follow the topic that is posted. I'm actually surprised how easygoing the mods are here. It just gets pretty annoying when I try to read a thread and it gets interrupted by pages of meaningless talking. Use PM's to talk to someone, not a thread. If useless chit chat really bother's you that much. and one word post also bothers you, then trust me there are a whole slew of people out there that should be smited, me included. I come on here just to have a good time, and I enjoy most of the people that post on here, I enjoy reading the funny post, and the serious one's also, I enjoy the post about the show (Lost) because sometimes I miss something that someone else has picked up. Pogs wasn't just smited once or twice, he's been over 100 at least 3 times that I myself remember, and has gone all the way down to the 40's, that's not making a point, that's being a BULLY and it's mean.  If I don't like what someone has posted or don't really care about the subject then I just don't read it. But I don't and I won't smite someone because of their opinion because I believe that everyone has a right to say what they think as long as it doesn't get mean or nasty. You mentioned PM's, instead of blasting him on the boards, you could have sent him a PM to explain what was bothering you about his post. I am not trying to start a war here, I just want you to understand that he is just 13 yrs old, and I feel that he's been unjustly picked on for just making innocent comments that shouldn't have really bothered anyone. |

I also respect the smiting process and I admit that in theorie it's a great system to keep the place friendly. And it worked great so far. But smiting someone from 110 to 50 is in my eyes just a cruelty and too over the top. I don't know if it just one member smiting every chance it gets or a culmunation of members smiting unaware of the others ...
... give the kid a break and let's see how he behaves in future. Cause I agree that Pogs' first days of posting were very enthusiastic ... you don't reach such a high posting number in such a short amount of time for nothing. But lately I thought he did quite good. For his age.
Casper I agree, I think whoever is smiting him is just trying to hurt his confidence. I think the best way to let someone know something is maybe a smite or two and a PM if it continues. Continuing to smite someone and not explaining why isn't going to tell anyone what they're doing wrong. I agree with you Steve, and I just read this one after I read the other one first, My statement in regards to the other one of your's that I quoted wasn't meant just for you it was meant for whoever is smiting him just to do it. I just think it's really sad to do that to someone. |

i really don't think i'm being that mean. i don't care that much about karma, but it bothers me when it goes into the negatives. i just want people to know that in real life, i am really, a nice person, and if you are annoyed by something i do, pm me.

If I don't like what someone has posted or don't really care about the subject then I just don't read it. But I don't and I won't smite someone because of their opinion because I believe that everyone has a right to say what they think as long as it doesn't get mean or nasty.
