hmmm i like this whole karma stuff, but i don't think its right that people complain about it - having a high rating of karma essentially means that you're a good person, and good people don't complain about trivial matters... i'll exalt some1 when they deserve it, not because they complain they are getting smoted

Well the party for us beating Slytherin in Quidditch is in full swing, I needed a break to get away from all those rowdy Hufflepuffs. Sue is going crazy.

What a shame that people are smiting a young man that just turned 13 yrs. old, for no better reason than he's posting comments on everything, or he's not putting enough thought into some of his postings. Well I am putting a lot of thought into this one, and shame on the people that are smiting pogs for such reasons that were posted  He's a very nice young man that has had fun making friends on the boards here, and pogs if I could I would give you 100 exalts right now, I feel so bad at what is going on. You do have some real friends here that really do care about you., so you just keep being who you are no matter what  +48 for now my friend. Look, it's not that we don't like him, it's just that I come here to READ threads, and when there are 3 pages of useless chit-chat it can get pretty annoying. There is a PM system for that reason. It's ok every once in a while to talk about something off the topic, but a short one word post or meaningless posts that don't add anything to the conversation really get annoying. Threads aren't a chat room, they should continue to follow the topic that is posted. I'm actually surprised how easygoing the mods are here. It just gets pretty annoying when I try to read a thread and it gets interrupted by pages of meaningless talking. Use PM's to talk to someone, not a thread. |

I completely agree with you Steve... there are SOOOO many threads that u can surely find the right one for whatever u want to say, be it serious discussion or general chitchat - don't mix them up, otherwise there's no point in having the different threads...

This is the first board that I've been to where you can give out karma points and/or smite someone. I like it. Obviously. I probably exalted every regular by now at least once. I know that my karma policy divers from the point of view of the first members. But that's okay. We can agree to disagree. I hope.
I also respect the smiting process and I admit that in theorie it's a great system to keep the place friendly. And it worked great so far. But smiting someone from 110 to 50 is in my eyes just a cruelty and too over the top. I don't know if it just one member smiting every chance it gets or a culmunation of members smiting unaware of the others ...
... give the kid a break and let's see how he behaves in future. Cause I agree that Pogs' first days of posting were very enthusiastic ... you don't reach such a high posting number in such a short amount of time for nothing. But lately I thought he did quite good. For his age.

Casper I agree, I think whoever is smiting him is just trying to hurt his confidence. I think the best way to let someone know something is maybe a smite or two and a PM if it continues. Continuing to smite someone and not explaining why isn't going to tell anyone what they're doing wrong. |

i'll exalt you, but most people don't take kindly ot folks who don't take kindly round here. i mean they don't like begging for kamra. play some kind of game, or something. i don't have a problem with it, but by karma was attacked because i complained about getting smote.
