I don't know who else has found this, but try it out. On the bottom of the website is a link for the "RSS" feed of the website, and I've just started getting into the whole RSS thing, so of course I clicked on it to get updated on the Hanso Website. I clicked it, and it took me to an "error" page found here: www.thehansofoundation.org/feed/thehansofoundation.xmlThis HAS to be a clue. There is a "carrot" symbol pointing up the the ampersand symbol (&). And also after that symbol is something weird saying "rsquo;s" Please check this out and tell me what you think. It could be nothing. It could be yet another clue. I could be throwing out already known information, and if thats so, than sorry!!

This is the xml feed. There is an error in the feed that cannot be processed. If you go to the page linked and view source you will see that everything looks good except for this ’ instead of a ' (right single quotation mark) - basically a curly single quote for the possesive. What is & rsquo; in html world? (notice the space between & and r) It is the HTML equivilent of unicode character U+2019 - or the right single quotation mark. Want to test this? Click the reply button on this post, paste in & rsquo; with no space and see what you get when you preview the message. Basically I think this is just an error. They should have used a character most rss readers can parse and they didn't. I'm not a huge RSS person so if there is more to this - let me know. JLSK

well there indeed that error, but u can still import that feed into your rss reader. I use the Opera web browser and even though it also reported that error, the hanso rss feed has been added to my erm.. rss list. the stuff about joop is ignored though (since it's got an error) so atm there's only this one comming thru: "The Hanso Foundation stands at the vanguard of social and scientific research for the advancement of the human race. www.thehansofoundation.org re-launches with a new look. Sign up to the newsletter if you want to get updates." If there were only a webmaster we could contact to report errors too..

I believe you are correct. And it's worth mentioning that both of my RSS readers (Abilon on the PC and the one built into Safari on the Mac) can both read the XML feed fine, regardless of the error.

Yeah - I'm not sure the word error is even right for this - maybe a bit strong. I suspect some RSS readers could parse this with no problems.

Interesting! There is a word in the rssfile error note , mentioned on the most recent official podcast
This page contains the following errors:
error on line 17 at column 122: Entity 'rsquo' not defined Carlton and JJ mentioned 2 Entities being on the Island (one being the smoke thing and the other one most likely the plant-unrooting security system. rsquo might be an acronym /anagram kind of thing ( for the puzzlers among us )
Namaste!

someone on another forum pointed out that rsquo is html code for "right single quotation mark" , otherwise known as apostrophe ( ' )

The RSS feed seems to have been fixed now. All subscribe! You never know what clues might come along that way.

go to download.com and find yourself an RSS reader application* the .xml url will need to be put into it and you will receive the datafeed.
RSS usually contains a small bit of info regarding website contence (such as fresh news in an online newspaper)
*there are also browser plugins for that

Duckhunt,
In Firefox, at the right hand side of the address bar, there will be a little box that says "RSS" for any site that has an RSS feed. If you click on it, it will make a live bookmark for you.
