Sorry Sawyer, but Katie had a good idea about making some rules for this War. So here they go.
April is National Poetry month. So, the WAR of April must be carried out poetically. All attacks must be versed as either haiku or couplet.
A haiku is a poem that has five syllables on one line, ten on the second, and 5 again on the third for a total of 17 syllables. Haikus do not have to rhyme. They do not even have to be complete thoughts at the end of each line, as long as the syllable count is correct.
Example: The LPTR
Will dominate this war
That’s how it will be.
If you are uncertain about the number of syllables in a certain word, dictionary.com should help you until you get into the swing of it. Once you do, you’ll be talking in haiku format without realizing it.
A couplet is a pair of lines with the last word on each line rhyming. I think for our purposes there should be a seven word limit on each line.
Example: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven
Send the LPT to heaven.
Also, I think there should be a post limit, once you have posted an attack, you can’t post again until two other people have posted, that way everyone gets a chance to survive, and everyone has to make use of their posts.
For the first week everyone can only post one haiku per post, or one couplet per post. For week two, everyone can post either a pair of haikus, or a pair of couplets. During week three people can post a maximum of three haikus or three couplets per post. During week four, it’s all at war, as long as you follow the haiku or couplet format you can post as many lines as needed.
