through the looking glass is the name of the season finale of lost. it was also the name of the sequel to alice in wonderland (book, not movie) the plot summaries and such can be found here, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Through_the_looking_glassbut the thing i found interesting is this Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (1871) is a work of children's literature by Lewis Carroll (Charles Lutwidge Dodgson), generally categorized as literary nonsense. It is the sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, although it makes no reference to its events. In it, there are many mirror themes, including opposites, time running backwards, and so on. and you know what they say about time when it runs backwards only fools are enslaved by it!

I think Ben will tell Jack that the outside world is actually in 2007.
It would explain the spoiler and make the reference to Through the Looking Glass.
Also, I always saw the title meaning seeing into the future, or seeing whats ahead.

Or it could simply (tho is anything ever simple on this show!?) that the world can see the island now.

But haven't we assumed that for most of the season?

The Alice in Wonderland reference also ties in to Ben and his white rabbits!

But haven't we assumed that for most of the season? Yes, but if an island suddenly "appeared" in a place where no one's expecting to find anything (re: what Naomi said), how long do you honestly think it'd take anyone to find it!?
