Also Asiello confirms: They are not dead - period. They are not clones. period. The finale will involve a conflict between Jack and Locke and their respective groups...s The game changer seems to be something that happened to Jack and is the "rattlesnake in the mailbox" at the end of the finale.

So, what do you guys think happened to Jack? Me, I think he either killed his dad on purpose/not on purpose, or watched him get murdered by his former employer aka Dharma. Also, when I think about what I would say if I did reach in and find a rattlesnake in my mailbox, the following words would be: HOLY ****!!!!!! So its a holy **** moment, basically.

Yeah - whatever it is it seems to accomplish the following from what I can tease out.
It changes the whole paradigm of Lost, explains why there is a good 48 more episodes to explain everything, but also explains why there needs to be a definite end and that there cannot be sequels and spin offs after Lost is off the air.
That makes me think that it is more than just him killing his Dad, although that might be part of it. Perhaps the idea of murdering someone is really key to the whole concept of the show. Another thought I had is that DHARMA secretly recruited Jack to get onto the island and figure out what the heck was going on there or something like that.

AH!!!!!!!!! So Jack would still be the good guy, LIKE I HAVE CONTINUED TO SAY, he is just keeping this secret from everyone. But if he was going to the island, then that means you are saying that the plane crash was done on purpose, right? But not by the Others, but by Dharma instead?
So, instead of the Others telling Kelvin to lure Dez away from the button, it was the remnants of Dharma that had Kelvin do it. JLSK, if I had the money, I'd fly to San Diego right now and give you a big man hug!!!!!!! Plus, I was born there anyway. Exalt for you, my good man!!!

Just a guess - but maybe Jack is a "sleeper" for DHARMA or some other organization and in the "Snake in the mailbox" we see him being re-activated to his pre-ordained purpose. I base this on absolutely nothing - but I think it would be cool

Jack saved Charlie's life; maybe Charlie decides to return the favour.

Good ol' Uncle Igmar.. always making me think. You seriously should be a writer. -TC Who says I'm not?? Kidding - Just thought it would be cool - based on the spoilers out there - it may just be a FOILER in the sense that "Jack" may not even be involved in the "rattlesnake in the mailbox".
But that would not equate with LOST History = the "flashbacks" from Season 1 - Jack - they blow the hatch and Jack meets a guy from his past - Season 2 - Desmond - the semi-frozen chess players looking for Desmond for Penny - but if Season 3 is really to be a "Jack" flaskback - then I go with "Jack" being programmed by someone - maybe Penny - maybe Mr. Widmore.
Just a thought

i think that juliet is gona be 1 of the 1s killed at the end of the season n maybe by one of the losties maybe kate or sawyer and this is gona make jack go mad n either turn bad - maybe even go over to the dark if it was kate or if it was sawyer, have a big punch up/attempt murder & then go running back to kate lol the writers did say something between the love quad would come as a shock to the audience!

this little snippet was in yesterday's NY Post (via darkUFO), and i think it's what Whispers was referring to: "Lost'"s executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof swear many viewers' questions will be answered by the end of season three. For instance, we'll know more about get a little defensive when you ask when the Others' bug-eyed leader, Ben (Michael Emerson). And though "Lost" isn't known for its romance, there will be some :really significant developments that occur in the romantic quadrangle of Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Juliet in the finale – two that will be surprising for the audience," Cuse says. Finally, the fight between the Losties and the Others finally comes to a head, and five people will die, although not all of them will be major cast members One big mystery that has been resolved: the show will come to a conclusion in 2010, after airing in three shortened seasons of 16 episodes each.
