01/24 - Charlie's about to get his comeuppance for kidnapping Sun last season. "That is getting resolved in an upcoming episode," exec producer Carlton Cuse tells me. "Sun finally finds out who actually did that to her. It takes place in another character's episode, but it becomes an important ancillary part of that episode." Cuse adds that it's a "reasonable assumption" that the reveal will cause problems between Charlie and Claire. [Vincent is] still on the island, per Cuse, who reveals, "The dog is coming back very soon." Someone who is not coming back anytime soon, however, is Michelle Rodriguez — despite rumors to the contrary. "She was over in Hawaii visiting friends and all of a sudden there was this furor," he says of recent Web rumors. "We might have her back at some point, but she's not currently back on the show." Yeah it will probably be one of the Others because I have heard that the death in this first episode "will not be someone you'll cry over". And also Lindelof and Cuse have said that "There are two bombs being dropped [during the second half of the season], one of which is a character bomb, and that will happen within the first three episodes after the break. And the other is a more significant story bomb, a game-changer, as it were, and that will happen shortly after."

I remember reading that someone will die early on (which I hear is in episode 7) and that a main character will die sometime in the second half of season 3, but that it is going to be separate from the death in the first episode. Oh yeah and I do agree with you I do think it is Danny (I hear that it may be Juliet who kills him)

omg where did you hear that Desmond is the next major character to die? I like Desmond and I don't want to see him go just yet. I wonder if it has something to do with this new ability (or not some new ability) of his.

i'd be really mad if they killed desmond, for 2 reasons

1) he's one of my favorite characters, behind probably charlie, hurley, locke, maybe sayid, and boone.

2) we're just getting to know him. they just revealed his super powers. it seems that every time we think we're gonna get answers, the source of them gets killed off.

now that I think about it, they probabl will kill desmond. otherwise, he could predict everything that is about to happen, therefore making the show not very surprising.

Why? Because almost any new character they've introduced they have either killed off or not really used (Bernard).
