If that is true, then . . .
I WAS RIGHT!
I have said it many times that I really believe there are more than one group of others. BTW, pvfreak, where did you get this info?

they answered some questions answer at comic con and that was one of the questions if i remember. they also hinted of the hatch that they are in with lindelofs hat and the hyrdo chamber. some other stuff. mostly they spend the 15-16 minutes correcting each others grammar and such.

A lot of people believed that there were two groups of others. Many, though, thought it was divided between the 'civilized' and 'uncivilized' others. Not the case, as it turned out.

Knowing how Cuse and Lindelof like to play with words - what it will turn out to be is that those we have come to know as "The Others" are simply "Other people" to the "Losties" - much the same way as the "Losties" could be referred to as "The Others" by "The Good Guys".
There ya have it - 2 groups of others and not one extra person involved.

Yeah - I've always thought there was more than just one group.
What wasn't clear is whether the "factions" they mentioned were within the single group of the Others, or whether there were actually two separate groups of Others at odds with one another...

Well, now that we've seen that ethan and goodwin are indeed with Benry's 'others', there aren't really any characters apart from roussau that could be part of this second faction. She seems pretty alone, so I don't think that's the case. I'd say that they use the word 'faction' loosely. Like jlsk said, they could be within theh others. Perhaps some of the others are original and some were found and recruited. or OOOH. IVE GOT IT faction A: The book club faction B: The boy scouts (tom and everyone who dressed up in weird clothes and went to the fake village) BRILLIANT! okay, thats probably not it, but oh well

For some reason, I feel as if by "faction" they don't necesserily mean two completely seperate groups so much as there is some sort of divide in Benry's crowd. Perhaps Juliette (I'm assuming she's the leader of whatever this "other faction" is, after all, she is head of the book club ) and who ever else is with her is trying to subvert the ideology that Benry has laid out. Hence him being, "out of the book club" (okay, that was a stretch ). Having there be a whole 'nother completely seperate group seems a little too complicated.

Lindelof and Cuse indicated that there were more than one group of 'others'. They also indicated that Carl was an 'other' and for some reason was being held... this is supported by the fact that Alex knows and is looking for Carl.
...and where's Bea Klough? ...and what about the quiet barefoot kids?
