Seems like episode 2 is going to reveal what we all really want to know. 09/20 - The Oct. 11 episode, called "Further Instructions," will also reveal what happened to Locke, Desmond and Eko when the hatch collapsed in last season's finale, and will find Hurley returning to camp after being released by the Others. "Ian Somerhalder guest stars as Boone," the network copy says. Source: Zap2it

Actualy, we odn't have to wait another week. Oct. 11th is one week after oct. 4th, so there is no rerun between those two weeks...so we odn't have tow ati an extra week. Unless you meant that we have to wati another week for ep. 2 instead of having a two hour premire.

This doesn't shock or bother me. In fact, I kind of expected them to answer only half of the things we were left with at the end of last season. Just like last year.
As for being upset with this or with last seasons handling of the same kind of situation, would you rather they did a substandard episode that crammed shorter versions of all the stories into one episode? Or how about leaving the stories all half (or less) told and leaving you with all sorts of unfinished cliffhangers for the next week or two (as the last one took three episodes as it was)?
I for one would rather they did a good hour long conclusion for the group taken by the others (setting their situation up for future episodes) in one episode and a good hour long conclusion for what happened in the bunker after the explosion. I wouldn't even mind another episode that covered the boat and beach people and what they were doing at the same time. I want to see the writers have the time they need to tell the stories they need to unfold.

Unless you meant that we have to wati another week for ep. 2 instead of having a two hour premire. Yeah that's pretty much what I mean, again we don't get the full story in one episode.

Well, since us who pay attention to the spoilers and read the ABC press release we know Eko, Locke, and Desmond all survived. Therefore, it really doesn't bother me not to get into their story first. It's not like they died.I'd like to know what happened, but the whole Jack, Kate, and Sawyer thing is a bit more interesting to me, because their virtualy helpless. I'm not saying I don't care about the Locke/Eko/Desmond story its just that I know for the most part that their okay, and I can already predict their going to take up arms and fight..even though they only have about seven guns left...yeah...everyone on this island is screwed lol.
