I guess it's time that I plugged this website:
www.breakthruradio.com
It's an Internet radio station that plays all independent and unsigned artists. It's a really awesome site if you're into indie music and a great place for bands or singer/songwriters to gain exposure and build up an international fan base. Actually, the station was playing artists like Of Montreal, Peter Bjorn & John, Snowden, The Blow, and Tyler James way before they "made" it. All their shows (and there's a TON - the regular daily shows, shows that showcase specific indie record labels like Matador or Warp, genre specific shows - ie hip-hop, indie pop, rock, party, dance, alt-country, singer/songwriter, heavy metal, bhangra, reggae, Latin, etc. etc) are in the embedded player on the site so you can access them on demand and download them into your mp3 player. There's also a ton of live studio sessions & a bunch of shows that were recorded live at South By Southwest music festival.
There's also a show by a guy named BP Fallon, who used to work with the Beatles, Zeppelin (he claims to have had a fight with Jimmy Page once) and is friends with Bono. Yes, Bono (he toured with U2 when they were promoting "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb").
Anyway, check it out It's a great site, especially if you're into indie music or always on the lookout for the "next big thing". No Britney, Avril OR Clay Aiken ( ) on THIS site!
P.S. If you get overwhelmed trying to find a specific show, let me know and I'll try to guide you haha
