Hm ... so here's another point of view. I am a dorky "Lost" fan ... geeky enough obviously to listen to podcasts ... but I don't discuss theories on any message boards. So to me those theories aren't that old 'been there done that'. I listen to each podcast a couple of times and I don't skip the listener feedback.
And some callers are pretty funny, too. ;D
I think that the different podcasts have different audiences. I don't listen to Lostcasts for example cause I am not interested in discussing the episodes that much in detail. It seems that Jay and Jack's audience (judging from your estimation about the quality of the calls) is more the type of a casual watcher.
If you ask me .. nothing wrong about that.

Maybe that sounded harsh, but it's not anything against J&J. A year ago I would tune in, and it would be call after call of mind-blowing theories, stuff I had never thought of. These days it just seems to be people calling in to say they liked the show. Now obviously J&J have a lot more calls to go through. Maybe they don't even get through all of them and just take the first 20 or so that are good enough. But I personally don't care about the calls that go "OMG, that episode was sooooo awesome. The ending just blew my mind. Ok, bye." I can get that from family and friends that watch the show. One or two is fine, but it gets repetitive. But I found a way to cure my frustration. I just skip Listener Feedback entirely. Turns an hour show into about a 25 minute one. I do the same thing, except listen to the listener theory of the week.
