But, as a fan of LOST from the beginning, I'm the first to admit-and point out-that not every episode is a glowing, golden, perfect example of dramatic narrative. Less and less so, it seems to me (and I'm not alone) as the show progresses. I'm not hatin'-I just would like to hear Jay and Jack or perhaps guest speakers say they DIDN'T like an episode. Character driven drama is important, and I'm not anit-flashback, buck the writers definitely jerk us around. It sometimes feels like what began as a complex psychological thriller with sci-fi overtones has morphed into nothing but an island-based soap opera. Did Sun break a glass figurine? Did she cheat? Does anybody really care? And can any of the castaways behave in believable manners and actually communicate as if their lives depend on it...which they do? I'm just saying!

Just to empahsize your point, I rewatched Tabula Rosa and Walkabout last night. Now those were great episodes. I like how the castaways interact with each other without it turning into Melrose Place. I'm afraid SuperKate is going to turn into the next Heather Locklear. Then once she's slept with every single man on the island, finally Smokey will come for her.
Rant!Rant!Rant!

Mr Anonymous is obviously the token voice of dissension on the Jay and Jack show, created by the podcasters to highten the conflict and keep their listenership during this long dark teatime of the soul between episodes.
My theory: Mr Anonymous kidnapped Jack, and dresses like Benry.

Interesting thoughts monsterjester. I partly agree.

I really agree with the starter of this thread in a way. I do definatley agree the show isn't what it used to be. It used to seem like there was a realistic answer to a lot of stuff, and then character development was gravy.
That's gone. Now it's all character development.
Is that bad? No. I just want them to go back to how they did it in Season One when the show was massively popular.
LOST lost a lot of fans in Season Two, but I think they're growing back pretty fast. So I'm not worried.

i have to agree thats its very different to season one in good ways and in lots of bad ways also. i tend to think season one was of trying to survive each other and the island. now season two and three its about trying to survive the habitants on the island. most people liked the fact of how do you survive with people you don't know and a place you don't know(season one). but Lost cant always stay that ways...the characters know who they have to live with now and they know the island pretty much(season two and three). the writters have to come up with more and more things to pop out of the island cause if they didn't it would always be about how to kill a boar or how to open a coconut.

While I might aggreew ith some of the stuff said, LOST remains the best show on TV. I think season three has started to go back to season ones roots. Personaly, even though I might be the only one here who thinks this, I think the show is just as good as it was two yers ago.
I think that people take thiis skate vrs. jate, this emllo-dramdic thign way to far. But the mysotry sitll remians. Thats me though.

I have enjoyed every episode because there are things from each one that add to the whole story. I don't like each one the same - I have my favorite ("The Cost of Living" - because it plays like a beautiful song with a sad ending!), but each one really adds something. And my least favorite episode is better than most of what's out there for us anyway!

I just really really enjoy watching Lost every week and hearing what Jay and Jack have to say about it. The only complaint I have is that Jack interrupts too much and Jay doesn't speak his opinions enough. I guess Jay just wants to keep the show at a tolerable time limit (under one hour, it seems) and be able to play a lot of listener calls. That I understand, so I get over that stuff really quickly and just enjoy the show for what it is, and it is great.
