Hey everyone. It's like 4am where I live, and I just completely lost track of time. I'm cutting another video for Jay and Jack. Just wanted to let you all know I'm really excited about their next vidcast, and was hoping more people would contribute this time, just to spice the broadcast up a little more.
So I think this thread would be a nice place for people to talk about various ways they can contribute to the show. I know some of you guys out there make movies, animate, and even do some stop-motion. Let's help eachother out any way we can. The creative power of this forum has a lot of potenial!
Anyway, I'm currently cutting my second video and I'm having a ball with it. I'm about half-way done, so I hope you guys will enjoy it.
So let's hear what you've got! (um well this is where you start talking)

Do you know how to separate audio from a 5.1 signal from a DVD? I've wanted to learn how to rip my LOST DVD set so I can make better quality videos. I want to be able to solo out just the dialog so I don't hear the music in the background. Great for sound effects when I'm cutting.

There's this program i use occasionally to backup my dvds and it's called Plato DVD Ripper. It converts the dvd content into a codec format of your choice (xvid, divx). Dunno if that's indeed what you're looking for..

i dont know, in theory u cud rip the episode from dvd to pc, load it in a video editor such as ulead and perhaps disable the video and leave the sound and cut that but i was jsut going to quickly record the sound via a microphone and a tv, quick and easy

Try using torrents to download, I find it a whole lot faster that Limewire (personally... it may just be my computer, who knows). I'd also like to know if someone finds a good DVD ripper for Mac. I've been toying with the idea of making some videos of my own, but I'm intimidated by the talent that comes out of this forum. I haven't made any "fanvids" or whatever you'd like to call them before... just stuff for my family.

I use torrents and Limewire. Depends on what I want. For me, LOST episodes go faster on Limewire.
