On the previous podcast you guys got an email drom someone saying that the shoe we see hanging on a brach in the first episode of season 1 could have some importance. Well, unfortunately i don`t think it does other that adding to the atmoshpere of the show. In the book entitled "Lost-Chronicles" an interview with J.J Abrams reveals all. When the interviewer asks him, "Does the shoe in the jungle have any significance?". Abrams replies by saying something along the lines of "The shoe is just there to show the viewer of the unsettling aftermath of something major." Here we can see what he means with such unsettling images possibly reminding us of 9-11 or other inccidents like it. Anyway, just thought i`d kill that possible road for a theory before it spirals out of control. Keep up the great podcast.

I agree, I think it was just to make it very eerie, it was before Jack ran out and saw the crash, it was a very horrific first few minutes.

One of my roommates walked in while we were watching the 1st episode. he said, "oh, he must be in a Drug neighborhood." It was funny and we laughed for a while... ...then we saw the episode with the Plane. My Goodness, my roommate was RIGHT ;D ;D ;D ;D
