Executive Producer Damon Lindelof told E!online that the producers are lobbying for schedule changes for the third season of ‘Lost’. ABC has denied a request to start the season later and show all 23 episodes back to back, so the producers have come up with a compromise to split the season into 3 acts.
If this happens the third season will start in October instead of September and would be released in three 7-8 episode chunks

Works for me - as long as - if they are going to show re-runs - they make sense. SHowing season 1 re-runs during season 2 - just didn't make sense to me at all.

It would make the summer hiatus longer, but I'd be happy if they ended up doing that schedule.

im not fussy about the showing it in chunks part. it could turn out worse than the hiatus's because on the first chunk of episodes, wen we get to the 7th, they will most likely leave us on a cliff hanger and the weeks (months?) waiting for the next chunks will be excrushiating (sp?)

I sure like the idea of a weekly episode without any break (24-style), but indeed the wait will be quite freaking hard. (although i didnt have the 'pleasure' to go thru s1-s2 summer break. Wasnt into lost at that moment.) I was into 24 though, and the wait was indeed crazy in the beginning, but i ignored it thru time and then bang, there was season 5 already But i do recon (sp?) that Lost isn't 24. They could give us a cliffhanger, that ridicules 24 into oblivion Heck, we'll see. Can't wait to hear Jack complaining all summer.

Here's a thought - start as usual on September - run 12 straight - then re-run those - then run 12 more new ones straight to the finale - OK - that's 36 weeks in a 32 week season - but maybe they could skip a few of the weaker episodes during the re-runs.

What about the poor actors working so long (and they're already working hard). ah, mayb another crew of actors for another version of Lost at the other side of the island, they could've done that with 'the other 48 days', but they joined pretty fast (episodewise). Or they could make little extra stand-alone shows (also with other actors) about those Lost books that came out.

I have a feeling that - since there have been rumors that the LOSTIES will find out how their plane crashed where it did - that there will be even more "regulars" added to the cast. I have no idea who they might be - or what is cause to crash down on the island - but somehow the LOSTIES will see something that shoots either up or from the island and they will find other survivors of what the havoc the island can reak.
Just a thought.
