From your post on the Meme of Four thread, I saw some interesting reading choices, including two of my favorites, The Bronx Zoo by Sparky Lyle and Bouton's Ball Four.
Another book I'd recommend - not strictly baseball, but a really funny read - is The Big Show by Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick. It's often found remaindered in bookstores.
Do you have a favorite team?

I think they share your sense of humour.
Gwynn was a great player. Unfortunately I think he never got his due, being in San Diego. He also had the bad luck of going to the Big Show against two juggernaut teams, the '84 Tigers and the '98 Yankees. Just bad luck. I remember he did very well against the Yankees in the '98 World Series, which was closer than it appeared. A real class act.
I also remember seeing Kristen Cloke, actress and wife of Glen Morgan (Space: Above and Beyond), sitting in the stands a couple of times on Fox during that '98 series. Easy on the eyes.

She was pretty good in that one episode of The X-Files as well.
As for baseball, I'm a huge fan of it - Braves (of course!)

Braves might have a hard time without Mazzone this year.

You know, I thought that initially, but I don't think so. I think Smoltz has probably absorbed enough over the years, as has Bobby, that they'll do ok.
If not, then it'll go down as one of the worst decisions that Schuerholz has ever made. Besides trading for Gary Sheffield. Ugh.

Jay and Jack aren't the Duracell of podcasts, they're the Ripken and Gehrig.

I was reading this book on the Farallone Islands off the California coast called "The Devil's Teeth" - pretty gripping read, those sharks make the Dharma version look like a minnow - anyhow, the playful zoologists gave the sharks nicknames, including Cal Ripfin.
